Being from hospitality myself I have looked for every possible way to convey this feedback to an owner or manager besides an online review but there is no possible private feedback and I am so mad about the absolute rip off we’ve just experienced. This restaurant charges the prices of a top steak house while having a digital ordering system that doesn’t work, a dirty venue, completely abysmal service, and absolutely horrid food. They were out of fries so our burger came with greasy tatertots. No one warned us, and no-one apologised; the air was filled with fruit flies, we didn’t get cutlery with our food, the table was dirty when we arrived and didn’t get cleaned while we were there, and the chefs were in melt down - shouting at each other and clearly miserable. Our servers seemed so stressed by the situation they’ve stopped even communicating to guests (our cutlery got thrown down when we pointed out we didn’t have any) - the final person from the bar was nice to us as we left - I felt terrible for her that she worked in such an awful place. I have never asked for a refund in my life but I am here publicly demanding one, because there was no-one in control of this horrible shift. We left having paid more than is imaginable for a truly terrible burger, and all my clothes stink of grease as we head into a nine hour flight. This place is absolutely horrific. Do not even try it. $80 for a burger without a vegetable in sight and three beers. We didn’t even want three beers, we wanted a salad and two beers but your ordering system is abysmal!! Can someone please contact me about a refund.

Ember, located within the Houston Airport, offers a convenient dining option for travelers. The menu includes hamburgers, sandwiches, and fries, but my experience with the food was mixed. Highlights: • Food Quality: I ordered an avocado sandwich, but it was disappointing as it contained very little avocado. Overall, I’d rate the food 3 out of 5. • Service: The service was decent. Ordering is done via a QR code on the table, which is convenient. Payment options are varied, including card, PayPal, and even meal vouchers from airlines. • Ambiance: The restaurant is cozy, providing a more comfortable dining experience compared to the typical airport seating. The airport’s internet is reliable, making it easy to pass the time while waiting for your meal. • Price: The prices are relatively high, which is expected for airport dining. While it’s a nice option to avoid the more uncomfortable seating in the terminal, there are healthier food stands along the way to other gates that offer meals at half the price. Conclusion: Ember is a decent option for a meal at the Houston Airport, especially if you prefer a more comfortable setting. However, the food quality could be improved, particularly the avocado sandwich. Given the high prices, you might want to explore other dining options in the airport for better value. It’s recommendable for a one-time visit, but I’m unsure if I would return.

I won’t get into the politics of what social distancing has brought us along with the lack of customer service when we sit down to order dine-in. For a decent looking place that even serves steaks, at these prices, you should at least get someone to greet you and ask you what you’d like to drink. Instead, you sit anywhere that is open and do everything from a touch screen. I counted six cooks in the kitchen and two servers on the floor. For this alone I give 3 stars. A burger and a beer set me back $40+ USD. Not overly surprising considering it’s the airport, but, at least at the nearby Wendy’s there is someone that will take your order. Food was just ok and bun was a little stale/dry. The beer however was spot on. 8th Wonder Rocket Fuel might be one of my newest favorites.

I rarely write a review for less than four stars - usually I follow Emerson's dictum: "...speak the affirmative..." and ignore everything you reject - but I found this place to be wanting. Travelers be advised you can do better just a few steps away. This restaurant dominates the middle of a high traffic area, and I'm sure it will do well no matter what. But I feel that the prices are elevated way beyond what is required and the quality and quantity of food served was subpar. (see photos) Procedurally they ask customers to tip before food and service are received. Don't fall for it - refuse to tip until you see what kind of food and service you receive. Caveat emptor. Credit where credit is due: a solid beer selection plus ample and airy seating.
