We love the original location, so it only made sense that we had to try this new Heights location with an updated menu. We came with some friends which gave us the opportunity to try new dishes and our tried and true favorites.
Chili Oil Dumplings (aka Hot & Spicy Dumplings): 5/5 - delicious as always!! For those that are spice adverse, you'll enjoy these tasty dumplings as they are not too spicy.
Biang Biang Noodles: 5/5 - slightly bigger portion size (which is adequately reflected in the price)
Sichuan Style Biang Noodle: 4/5 - Family style platter, delicious, beware accidentally eating a pepper!
Sichuan Lamb Flat Noodle: 3/5 - Family style platter. Good dish, but the group tended to prefer the other Sichuan noodle dish.
Garlic Pork: 4.5/4 - Family style dish. Full of flavor, absolutely delicious....I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture to show you this beautiful dish.
Honey Ginger Tea: 5/5 - This was sooo much better than what we've had the last few times at the original restaurant, which was watered down and not flavorful. This location returned this delicious tea to it's former glory and I can't wait to go back and drink it again!
There was not a single dish we did not like. Nothing was overly spicy, in fact, I'd argue it was a very nice level of spice in each dish.
As this location is still new, it was not crowded at all and the inside is quite nice. It feels a little more upscale and modern compared to it's original location, but not pretentious and still comfortable to be in.
The servers work at both locations - if you don't know what to get, they have not steered us wrong yet! Friendly and attentive, great service.

Read moreI was so excited to try Hi Trendy Dumplings. It’s one of those places that I always drive by and say “I want to try that place.” Well guess what Babysitters?…I did! The ambience was relaxing and casual. You have your Heights childless couple, a few students from probably on of the local colleges/universities, guys from Montrose digging the place, and this absolutely famished pseudo reviewer ready to jump head first into a big heaping helping of dumplings. Unfortunately, this tale went sideways real fast. I decided to try the Mongolian duck. The restaurant is the type that all waiters pool their tips, so any of them are available to help any table. Unfortunately, our second server was not up to par this evening. After telling him TWICE that I wanted Mongolian duck, you know that my face was cracked…and on the ground when another server brought out Mongolian beef. Um…okay. The duck was tough and tasteless. I wasn’t sure if that was because they rushed it due to the first boo boo made, but I asked for some salt and ate it like it was my last meal (insert the theme song from the movie “The Green Mile” here). After eating the mediocre meal, I asked for a napkin from the previously mentioned “server” (yes, that term is questionable). Then I asked for a napkin…again. Then Babysitters, I had to ask a third time. By then, you KNOW that I was “read’ ta go.” Note: Fam, Imma need you to bring your A game to work on your next shift. They are known for their dumplings, so I shouldn’t have strayed from the norm. I’m willing to give them a second chance and see how things go. I’ll be sure to post my review which I’ll refer to as THE GREAT DUMPLING CAPER (Part Deaux). Despite this room temperature review, I would still tell you to give them...
Read moreOverall, the quality of the food at this establishment has been consistently satisfying and enjoyable, which is certainly commendable.
However, during a recent visit, it appeared that the restaurant may have been particularly busy, which seemed to have impacted the level of cleanliness. The table we were seated at had not been properly wiped down, and as a result, there were visible oil smudges covering the surface. Despite this, we decided not to make a fuss and instead focused on enjoying our evening together.
Another slightly off-putting experience occurred when our server delivered our meals to the table. As they placed the dishes down, we noticed that their thumb was resting on the edge of the plate. This would not have been particularly concerning if it weren't for the fact that their thumb was actually in contact with the food itself. This unfortunate oversight happened with not just one, but two separate dishes and rice bowls that were brought to our table. While we chose not to voice our concerns that night, it is worth noting that if this were to occur again during a future visit, we may reconsider returning to the restaurant.
Despite these minor issues, it's essential to emphasize that the food itself was truly delightful, and we genuinely appreciated the flavors and overall culinary experience. We do hope that our next visit will show improvement in these areas, allowing us to continue enjoying the delicious offerings at this...
