This hotel has good views of downtown Houston, depending on the room you are in. Be sure to ask for a room with a view if this is what you want. Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows and a nice couch to watch TV by the large window.
The AC controls were in the room on the wall. I like having the option to turn on the fan only for white noise as I sleep and this one gives you the option. A very useful tool since the right side of the building bumps up next to the busy freeway. It really did not bother me too much, but there is the occasional loud vehicle hum going by or emergency vehicle that you hear. Again, it was not a big deal for me on the 6th floor.
This location has their own parking garage that is secured by room key. Each garage floor is not attached to the building so if you park higher, you will have to take the elevator down to the first level to walk in to the lobby. The garage and hotel are on the same property so you do not have to cross and busy street to get back into the hotel. The heights is a beautiful cultural neighborhood with lots of nice houses, townhomes and restaurants within walking distance. These are locally owned and ran establishments with unique eats and bars that differ from typical chain restaurants found around hotels like this. There is a really nice walking trail that is used by many locals both on foot and biking very close to the hotel. You will see lots of people out and about on
The only down side I found was that the hot water in the shower just wasn't hot enough. I by no means want to burn myself to a crisp but I do like having the option to turn it up a bit and find my sweet spot. I had it all the way up as hot as it would go and was wishing it could go higher within 5 minutes. Not sure if this is a room by room problem but I am sure the hotel can adjust.

Read morejust read a review that stated that the employees treat you based on your skin color, and I assure you that isn't true. Everyone that I've seen working in this hotel has been all different nationalities... I stayed for 4 nights with my service dog and I ran into 1 employee who was completely rude about me having him. Everyone else has been amazing... And Omar was SO nice!! All of the other young ladies were awesome too!! ... However, the one lady who was rude almost made me pack up and leave at 3:30am. 🤦♀️ Over all, the hotel has been wonderful. The staff is very nice and the hotel is clean as can be... I truly enjoyed the bed!... My only main issue, besides that 1 employee, would have to be that my CC was charged $60 for absolutely nothing at all. 🤷♀️ I went straight to the front desk and they're working to get the charge reversed. I haven't purchased any food, snacks, drinks, etc. So there's no need for the charge at all. I'm hope they get that resolved quickly. I wish they had the continental breakfast, but I could live without it. That's the only thing that would have made it better. There's a Starbucks, but if I'm paying $14 for breakfast I want IHOP. 💁♀️
Now the rentacop is RUDE as hell!! I honestly do not know how the hell he's still employed here at all....
This is now my second trip here after my 4 night stay (I left Monday 9/5/2022 and returned friday 9/10/2022) I have now had 2 situations with that rude guy... While I enjoyed the hotel and the other employees, I won't be returning after this stay. He has definitely ruined this place for me. I'll be taking my Titanium Elite...
Read moreI booked a suite at this hotel for the night before and after my wedding. I specifically told cleaning staff that my bridesmaids and I would be getting ready there and we would be leaving at 3pm. They told me they would clean my room after then and said it would be no problem. When my husband and I walked into the room was exactly how my bridesmaids and I had left it. The trash wasn’t taken out. The beds weren’t made. The towels weren’t changed. Bags of food we left to be taken were still there. The room smelled like food. Disappointing to say the least. When I called for a possible room switch, I was told there are no more rooms available and “it’s really crazy they didn’t clean your room I don’t know why they would do that.” I was also told that my husband and I could come and grab clean towels from downstairs. I was clearly upset, and left note of this with the front desk personnel the next morning and asked to speak with a manager, but they told me no one was on site and they would have someone reach out. Over a week later and that has yet to happen and Ofcourse they already took their money. Extremely disappointed with Courtyard and this location for how they treated us on our wedding night, which resulted in us cleaning our own room. Had it not been for how exhausted we were, we would have drove home. The best thing about this hotel was the convenience of location, but there is plenty of construction in the area making it difficult to find for some....
