We used to practice here with our youth cross country team. The hills and access to the Buffalo Bayou trails made it an ideal location for this. However, the constant smash and grabs of vehicles in the parking lot made us abandon it. When you pull into the parking lot and see broken car window glass all over the place, this isn't an anomaly. Probably at least once a day and this has been going on for at least a year. I have NO idea why something hasn't been done about it, but for now I would advise to avoid this place. Also there are no restroom facilities, so consider that as well. Oh and as others have also mentioned, for some reason people think it's ok to let their dogs run off the leash here. This isn't only a violation of the law, believe it or not dog people, not everyone is thrilled to have your animal run up to them when they are in the middle of working out, or have your precious little yippy dog chasing after them when they...

Massive park with many huge rolling hills and healthy green grass. Many dogs running around off-leash (don't know if that is against the posted rules or not) but everyone was well-behaved and nobody complained. Good sized concrete picnic tables with checker/chess boads inlaid on the tops, many large trees for shade, covered basketball courts, large winding sidewalks with many "city park" style workout stations along the route, and so much more. Parking lot space is pretty limited, but then there is some street parking available on the north end.

The most noticeable things were the many large, flat, clean green spaces optimal for an afternoon of family football, long distance frisbee play, long distance baseball catch, or for large dogs to REALLY open up their speed and stretch their legs. The flat spots are separated by big green hills that are probably packed with cardboard box sledders when it...

I love this place. There are 2 small kids play area inside the park. My daughter loves the swing. Also, there are 2 tennis courts with lighting (at night). Minimal parking, No restrooms.

One thing I hate about the park is dog walkers. 90% of the dog walkers never leash their dog. It is clearly mentioned in park rules. But most of the dog walkers never follow. I'm not a dog hater but dogs are not always friendly with strangers. Dog owners should understand that. Within 0.5 miles there is a dog park at Bayou Park. If you don't want to leash then go to the dog park. Don't come here and spoil the peacefulness of other people.

I would appreciate if park authorities take action against those dog walkers without a leash. Also, I would thank if you build a restroom...

Overall this is a great family and pet friendly park that is conveniently located for anyone in the city. There is a large amount of space to do all kinds of activities, go for a walk, or play sports with friends. There are two tennis courts that are usable but not that nice (nets are ripped and have holes). There is a hill for running sprints or using cardboard sleds (highly recommend!). You can bring your pups and go for a run or walk. There are basic workout setups like pull-up bars conveniently next to the trails. There are two reasons why I gave 3 stars: 1) The basketball rims are still down because of COVID. 2) After raining the grass has puddles and tons of mud that seems to linger. Other than that it’s great!

⚠️WARNING: Parking is very unsafe. If you park there just bet on your car getting broken in to. Week after week multiple cars get broken in to. You can see by all the car glass all over the parking lot. Law enforcement doesn’t do much in any case either (maybe install some cameras over parking lot). So just do not bring anything valuable with you. I don’t have anything of value in my vehicle and yet I was still hit. Goes to show you criminals will just hit at random because they know this is a hot spot.

Great park just off of memorial drive. Connects to the Buffalo Bayou Greenway trails. Free parking. Typically open and not very crowded. Beautifully thought through. Really nice trails and walking paths. The way it’s constructed the hill drops down to the park away from the road way, which cuts off viewing angles and sound from the highway. No restrooms, no water that I saw. But they had basketball courts on a covered court with nets. Some seating and a fire pit.
