I’ve had driven by this place a few times before I finally tried it a few weeks ago. My first experience- I needed a large meal to feed my fam & out of town guest. I love hibachi so I gave them a try. I ordered take out to pick up on the way home after work. There was a short wait until my food was ready so the staff took the liberty to actually talk to me and was nice enough to give coupons for my next visit. I got my order and the aroma made my mouth water no cap! I thought if the food is as good as it smell, is about to go down!!! Oh baby!!!! Hibachi King did not disappoint!!! Food: 10/10 so fresh so good! Service: 10/10.
The spot was so chill, clean, and cozy with great music! I came back few days later for date night. We sat at the bar and ate drank and chatted with the owner and his wife. Beautiful people. Y’all check this hidden gem out!!! I’m going back tonight or tomorrow to have dinner/drinks for my birthday:)
NOW I started not to tell y’all because I wanted to keep this gem all to myself lol. But people need to know about...
Read moreI hate leaving fair review, I was really rooting for this place. I recently visited Hibachi King in Bellaire and unfortunately, found it underwhelming compared to Samurai Japanese Steak and Sushi less than a mile away. I ordered the Steak and Shrimp ($30), but it lacked the flavor and quality I’ve come to expect—especially when compared to Samurai’s House Delight ($32.50). The portions were good, but the chicken was overly chopped and heavily seasoned in a way that felt inconsistent with other local hibachi spots. The fried rice was tasty but too greasy. The veggies were also fresh and tasty, but again just a bit to greasy. The atmosphere, with its dark black and burgundy tones and high table and chairs felt slightly more like a bar than a traditional Japanese restaurant. Maybe that’s the theme, not sure. Based on this experience, I’m not likely to return. Good luck...

This is by far the best hibachi I've ever had. I got the shrimp and chicken combo (see picture below), and everything was cooked just right. This was their half portion; they also have a big meal, but even this half part was really filling and tasty!
The garlic butter and yum yum sauces are good, but you really don't need them. The dish is already well-seasoned. The chicken was juicy, the shrimp was cooked just right, and the vegetables were fresh and tasty.
You have to visit Hibachi King if you want great hibachi in Houston. Next time, I'll surely get a...
