Honeymee - Alief — Restaurant in Houston

Went for their grand opening for the Buy 1 Free 1 deal. Was very crowded and they were very slow in serving the ice cream. Not sure if a machine was broken or if they were taking more orders than they could manage (more people were waiting for their order than to place their order). They were nice despite it being hectic, and even passed out free slices of cake to help with the 1+ hour long wait. It was sometimes difficult to hear your order number too over the loud country music (not sure why they were playing country music from Nashville?) so that added to the chaos. The ice cream itself was okay, nothing too crazy. Cool concept with the honeycomb topping but not worth the wait or price if there wasn't...

Big fan of HoneyMee; I used to go to the Chinatown location a lot months ago. Stopped for a while and decided to try this one. It seemed popular at first, but has since died down immensely.

When we came in there was no one else. It took a worker some considerable effort to churn out the ice cream–something got stuck? When I got my ice cream it was really icy and chunky. Little chunks of ice made the ice cream gritty. Not smooth like how I remembered. Flavor was just okay. My boyfriend said it tasted too chemically to be matcha 🍵 lol

The icecream and menu are amazing!! Loved the options to choose from & there is a lot of seating available for you to sit and enjoy. The only thing I would said is that I wish they would understand us better, it was hard for us to communicate what we were looking for & interested in possibly buying. This made the experience alittle bad for us but otherwise the matcha sweetie and matcha darling...
