Pretty cool place. Almost everything decorated is purple and the food is amazing. We had to eat here a second time before heading home. My daughter got upset because we ordered extra meat instead of getting her, her own plate. It was stir fry beef with egg and rice and onions. She's eight so not an amazing eater yet. The meat was so very tender and brown sauce made the rice impossible not to eat. My wife's soup was a smelly type but very good food and the fish slice was bigger than your hand. So wasn't really complaining but said there's hardly any noodles but mostly meat. So a good value. She's Vietnamese. We got some type of herbal drink. The owners are very personable. I gave the atmosphere 5 stars but it's not upscale. There's a lot of love in the purple decor. Definitely a recommended...

We came upon this restaurant by accident since the original place we wanted to go has closed down. We didn't know what to expect when we first got here. The whole restaurant was purple, from the interior; to the plating was purple. The server/owner was super friendly and he we had great conversation. We ordered the Lau Mam $50 and it was awesome. For a moment, I felt kind of cheated since the $50 one looks like 2 bowl combine but the flavor got us to forget everything. It was one of the best lau mam I ever had! I have a habit of putting things in slowly to eat but the server told me to dump it all in so it can soaked in all the flavors, in which, I did and I can't thanks him enough. I will definitely come back here once we are in Houston again. Until next...

My mom and I decided to come here because she was craving a specific dish that this place happened to have. My mom did in fact enjoy her food and ate it all pretty quickly. I got egg rolls, they came in a pack of 4 and were really hot but good. You could tell this place is authentic because of the Asian people running the place. You could also tell by the smell of the place and a small shrine in the corner of the restaurant.

They had a large menu with many dishes to choose from. The place was also pretty clean and I liked the purple theme; even the woman working was wearing all purple. The food came out somewhat quickly-I had a little wait for my egg rolls but it’s okay.

Overall a good place to eat and I think I...

My trip to Texas was worth a while after I visited this restaurant. It is rare dish from the southern VietNam that not everyone will be able to comprehend, but let me tell you if you look for something that more adventurous definitely try this dish “Bun Mam”. The dish name is also the restaurant’s name so no worries you wouldn’t miss it even if you try. Friendly staffs, good food, and also the purple theme is a plus. Literally purple everything :) definitely going to come back if I have a chance. If you eat Bun Mam here you don’t need to eat it again in VietNam so enjoy.

Bun Man Mien Tay is the best Bun Mam restaurant in the Houston, TX area. This is the only place where I can enjoy eating Bun Mam. The broth is perfect and does not smell fishy. The service is always wonderful. The restaurant owner is a very nice lady, and purple is her favorite color; therefore, the entire restaurant's decoration is purple. The restaurant is super clean, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes to eat Bun Mam. They moved to a new location. Very beautiful restaurant decoration. Their bun mam is always delicious.
