Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Houston

Just got some subs from here tonight, first time at this store. The girl by the register, didn't look up from her phone until I was almost to the counter. She did greet me, but she did it as if she is required to, which she probably is. There were two other people working at the time. One guy, near the grill, would hardly look me in the eye, even as I ordered, and wanted me to order my warm subs first with him, that he wrote on a to-go pad .Then the girl, at the other end of the counter near the register, asked me about my cold one, and rang them all up there. She started asking me about what I wanted on my sandwich, from in front of the fixings near the middle of the counter, before I had even pulled my card from the machine, so I actually forgot it in there for a sec until the machine started beeping at me, thank goodness. I felt rushed by the staff even though there were no other customers in the store. It felt very discombobulated/unorganized. It was neat to watch the 2nd guy cook the ingredients on the grill, though, very fresh obviously. And while I waited, I was looking around at the pictures on the wall and such, and noticed that most of the tables were dirty with crumbs and such, because they hadn't been wiped down or cleaned off. Again, there were no other customers in the store. It's not like were too busy to get to them. They did write the sub names on the bags they were put in, so that's a nice touch, not having to guess which sub is which. The problem though, is that one of the subs was beef instead of the chicken I ordered. Now, I'm wondering if they made my husband's chicken when he ordered beef. Won't find out till he gets back home. I like beef as well though, so I ate it anyway. Will have to say it was very delicious! Good meat to veggies portions, great taste, and I didn't feel like I was just eating mostly bread. Again, very good, but with all the other negative things thrown in there, I will probably only consider trying them again in a few months and see if tonight was just an off day for the staff. I just made my first visit to Jersey Mike's. It was on the recommendation of a coworker and it turned out very well! They have a dining room and the food prep area just as subway does. I got the same turkey and bacon sub that I get from subway to use as a comparison. It tasted very different! The bread was great! They have rosemary Parmesan bread. Subway only ever seems to have white and wheat. The bread IS a big deal... Subway was caught putting that foamed plastic material in their bread. There is no such discovery for Jersey Mike's.. We went to jersey mike's on Sunday October 22nd 2023 at around 5pm. We were treated extremely rude by a young man with long hair. When we arrived we said hi and asked him how he was doing he told us "its going". He then began huffing and puffing as we began to look at the menu. He throwed the meat and cheese on the counter in discuss as we ordered. I will never go back to that store again. As an older adult, i have never been treated with more disrespect as customer in my life. I encourage everyone to not go to that briskness as they do not care how the service treat the customers.
