Joe's Deli — Restaurant in Houston

Hmm, I really wanted to rate this higher, but they got my to-go order wrong. I placed my order at the counter - a classic burger - mayo instead of mustard, no pickles - and an order of fries. The cashier was super nice, conversing with me about the $1 coin I used to pay for my order. I got my order in about 10 min, looked in bag and noticed fries were missing. I reminded the cashier and he told the cooks in the back. Didn't take too long to give it to me, since they had just finished frying a new batch. So I got to my destination 5 min. after I left Joe's, opened my burger wrapper - the bread was crumbly and just looked old. Worse, I saw mustard on the bottom bun!! ACK! Can't stand mustard on burgers. I started to eat anyway, as hungry as I was, and ACK again, I bit into a pickle!!! Augh!!!! I just pulled all the pickles out everytime I saw one after each bite. How did they get my order wrong? I know it was my order because the cashier read off the order written on the bag - classic burger, no pickles, mayo not mustard. Good thing was that the patty was not greasy. Fries were crinkle-cut fried just how I like them (no burnt or dark brown crispy edges but crispy outside, soft inside). I would love to give this place a better rating because of the four and a half stars it got from others. I am willing to come back and try the burger again (when made exactly to my request). I found this place by chance because I happened to be working in the area. I googled “Best chicken salad near me” since it has been a blistering day, and I wanted something light but full of protein for my keto lifestyle. I found another review that said it was the best chicken salad they have ever eaten. So I headed there right away. I wasn’t sure if it was open or not, as it was after three in the afternoon and the open sign was not on anymore, but I saw movement inside so I decided to take a chance. I was greeted warmly as soon as I walked in the door. I told the gentleman behind the counter that I wanted the chicken salad, he took my order and started to make it right away. I also decided to indulge in some cold watermelon, and some cream filled pickled jalapeños. Michael was the guy behind the counter, and he was extremely friendly the whole time I was there. I ate all of the watermelon on the way home-it was absolutely delicious and perfectly sweet and cold. Once I got home, I delved into the chicken salad. It was delicious. They put hard boiled eggs in it, which I love, and it was very creamy and light but still satisfied my protein craving. I should’ve bought at least six of the cream cheese filled jalapeños, I only got two, and I definitely want more. Fantastic experience, the next time I’m in the area I will definitely make this my choice place to stop...

My friend ordered 3 entrées, and those were delicious .. Then 30 something minutes later comes his order with his side dish , and we waited for another 10 min for waitress to come back around and she asked if my plate hadn't came , I looked infront of me and answered her ummm nope , bc I obviously didn't hide the plate and friend didn't want to start eating until I got my plate so his food was untouched. . Waitress said okay let me check on that .. 5 min later she comes back and tells us 4 more minutes, we literally waited like 35 minutes for my food AND IT WAS JUST SOME VEGETABLES! I was laughing at the fact that it took sooooo long to bring out a plate of vegetables it almost seemed like they forgot my order or she didn't put it in , idk .. I was upset bc friend still decided to tip more than he should have. . It was a Thursday, and it wasn't busy , so I don't get it .... Atmosphere is nice , some ppl that seemed drunk and loud , but overall nice calm environment. . Pretty area outside as well...
