Taqueria De Jalisco — Restaurant in South Houston

I love coming to this restaurant the food is good. But yesterday the service was bad and when I mean bad, they sat us down asked for our drink order and gave us the menu. About 2min later they wanted us to order, didn’t even give us a chance to look at the menu. The lady was literally rushing telling us to look at the menu first and then we could talk. ( she said it in a joking kinda way but she was being serious). After they brought us our drinks she asked again and we placed our order. About 5 min later our food was out, and she proceeds to say, now talk can continue talking 😑and the food was not great. The cook was rushing the waitress was rushing. We were eating and she kept asking what else we needed if she could remove plates (we weren’t even done) we literally had got our food about 10min prior. She proceeded to take the tab to our table kept cleaning while we were still eating, like why the rush? It’s not full, there was plenty of tables. Then when she had finally cleaned up all our table and we paid asked us if there was anything else we needed if not she was gonna need the table because another waitress only had 2 tables and we need to sit other people and there was about 7 tables available. We were catching up with an old friend that we hadn’t seen in over 6yrs, but we bought a good amount of food! I don’t know what the rush was but I will never ever be...

I ordered a parillada today, a very common dish at a mexican restuarant. My fajita tasted very dry and had no flavor. I figured something was wrong because the salsa tasted water down from the beginning. I also ordered melted cheese and it tasted like it came out of a can, it looked like they didn't even bother adding jalapenos or putting milk in the cheese. I ate with my family today and their food wasn't as dry as mines. I asked the manager if i could get another parillada and she said she would have to charge me another plate because it would have to be from scratch.She also said its suppose to taste like that. The smashed beans looked like baby poop and the regular beans tasted raw. The restuarant doesn't have pride in their food, honestly I wouldn't even care if the serviced was bad as long as the food is good. The restuarant tried to charge us 15% for the tip. It seems like they are just serving you for a check. I understand we are in a pandemic, prices are high , and we may have personal things going on,but tips should be earned...

Go to La Fonda! Cheaper, better service!! I made an order for dinner through their drive thru, got home and some items were missing. Keep in mind that I'm 15-20 mins away. I understand that everyone makes mistakes. When I called, the lady who answered the phone (05/12/2021 @ 8pm) was telling me that I should have paid attention when she repeated the order and giving me attitude. Being in customer service...the customer is always right! My 2 year old was acting up in the car, I'm tired and stressed from work...u bet I told her off. I told her to have my torta ready and that I was on my way....but u know what? I paid $45 for 2 plates and 2 tacos...wow! She didn't even charge my torta....soo I went to La Fonda who is 2 minutes from them and are cheaper...I should have gone to La Fonda in the first place but they were packed at their drive thru..and these people were empty...bad mistake!...
