Went here Sunday with the fam. I gotta say the place looks rough!!! It's not very visible but it's on the corner of the rundown shopping center. When we first pulled up I wasn't to sure about eating here. My husband said we should still try it out. We walked in and ooooh man was it ugly in there!!! The place is dirty!!! They had dirty dishes with trash/dirty napkins pilled up on the bar area. It's a mess in there!!! I was even more worried once I saw the inside. I was scared of getting sick or my kids getting sick, but we still tried it 🤷🏻‍♀️😅 I must say I was a bit surprised that my food was really good 😅 I had 2 pupusas, 1 was chicharon with cheese and the other was I think rebuelta or rebuelto with cheese and curtido. They were soooo gooood!!!! My kids had tacos de barbacoa, a hamburger and pancakes. The hubs had menudo and 2 quesadillas with meat. He said it was good but it needed more flavor/ mas salesita and that the quesadillas were great, really tender meat.. Also I would like to point out that the staff was very polite/great service!!! We ordered a good amount of food/drinks and it was actually very cheap!! It was around $65. If we would have went to another restaurant and order the same it would have been closer to $100! I hope they give this place a facelift. Make it nice and clean/ tidy it up because the food is...

DO NOT EAT HERE!! Especially on Sundays. The worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant, bakery, café, or whatever you want to call this hole in a wall joint. The place was filthy, but my friends wanted to eat here claiming it was fire. It was slow on a Sunday afternoon. We sat ourselves and waited almost 10mins for menus, we got chips, but no salsa, ordered drinks and it took well over 20mins as one champurrado and licuado came out first. We got our food and one had to eat with his hands because we never got silverware. Halfway through our meal and the other 2 juice drinks finally came out. They forgot to make them. To make up for their mistakes they give us frozen gansitos...they were expired over a month. We go to pay and wouldn't you know...they don't separate checks on Sundays. When we asked how do you expect us to pay, since we all have debit cards, the waitress now claims to not speak English. Ok. I speak to her in Spanish and she kept playing dumb. Where is the manager throughout all this? Who knows? This place will be hearing from food, health, and safety inspectors. DO...

Tucked in the corner of a small strip center is Houston Bakery and Cafe. There was not an obvious restaurant sign, but all the cars on the one side of the parking lot let us know we were in the right spot. It's a bit crowded with tables and people but we found a spot. Now I love gorditas from my local neighborhood spot, so these were not my favorite but they are tasty. The gordita shell was dry and not what I'm used to. The cheese papusa was delicious. The breakfast plate with eggs, hash browns, bacon, and bread was an excellent amount of food for the price and the pancakes were well received. I don't live in the neighborhood so I won't go out of my way to return but I would recommend...

So the place is a hole in a wall, but worth it. The brisket meal has great flavor. Their hot salsa taste great.. just add salt to really appreciate it. I also got their traditional Honduran dish. If you like plantain you will like it. However ask for the fried chicken with all the rest… very good and could be served with their pancakes and be a big money maker for the restaurant. Owning my own catering company and cooking to stars… it’s a solid restaurant to support local businesses

I can not emphasize enough how delicious everything was! The design and decor needs a little bit of love but don’t let it discourage you! I had the best authentic Mexican food. I had barbacoa (legit the same I’ve eaten in Mexico), fresh and tasteful cilantro and simply perfectly cooked rice! delicious champurrado. Also extremely affordable. Please come up with an easier system to tip for the amazing service the staff deserves it.
