Bad customer service experience, not enough food for the exorbitant price, and staff is poorly trained at the Houston Hobby location. I paid $18.25 for a sliced brisket sandwich with a very small amount of meat and when I inquired about it, I was told that is the correct amount. Then another employee “Darrielle” young lady with braids overheard my conversation and rolled her eyes and had a bad attitude. I asked to speak with a Manager and Carlos (formerly worked for Pei Wei) stated that the meat is weighed and regulated by the airport to only give 4 ounces of meat. I find that hard to believe but that was his response. I told Carlos that when I visit Killen’s Pearland location I am given a much larger portion of meat for less money. He agreed and maintained it’s the airport who regulates the weight. I don’t know if that’s factual but I was dissatisfied and after all of the aforementioned the brisket was DRY!!! Staff also needs more food prep training they are extremely slow and obviously undertrained. Young man slicing brisket moves at a snails pace and other young man who boxed the sandwich failed to use the paper wrap and cut my sandwich in half as I requested but he cut it inside the box on top of the greasy cutting board which made the lid of my box very greasy. Who does that? Poorly trained and they don’t know what they’re doing. Mr. Killen’s do better by your airport customers. I really don’t understand why the Late & Former Mayor Turner voted with City Council to remove the Pappa’s chain from the airport. Their employees are well trained, food is good and they give you the same large portions of food as they do at all of...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re flying through Hobby Airport and want a meal that feels like a warm Texas welcome, Killian’s BBQ is the spot! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the most genuine smile and hospitality from Georda. She set the tone for the entire experience — friendly, attentive, and making sure every detail was just right.
The BBQ itself? Absolutely phenomenal — tender, flavorful, and served fresh and hot. But what truly made the visit unforgettable was the service. Georda didn’t just serve food; she delivered an experience. She checked in with perfect timing, made sure I had everything I needed, and even sent me off with kind words and a smile that could brighten anyone’s travel day.
From greeting to exit, she made me feel like a valued guest, not just another traveler passing through. Killian’s BBQ has great food, but with Georda’s hospitality, they’ve got something even rarer — genuine Texas warmth.
I’ll be telling everyone to stop here before...
Read moreWow — Killen’s BBQ at Hobby Airport completely blew me away! ✈️🔥 From the moment I took my first bite, I could tell the food was fresh, high-quality, and made with care. The staff was warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
I’ll be honest — I walked in a little hesitant because airport food usually means sky-high prices and disappointing portions. But this place? Totally different. Here, the price matched the quality, and I left feeling like I truly got my money’s worth — and then some. That’s all you can really ask for from a great restaurant.
I ordered the sliced brisket plate with creamed corn and macaroni & cheese… and it was EXCELLENT. The brisket was tender and smoky, the sides were rich and flavorful — honestly, I could eat this every time I come to work.
Solid 5/5 stars. I will absolutely be back often. Sincerely, I happy Southwest...
