This review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion.
I went to M-X Donuts on Friday 9/17/21. it was my very first time.
FOOD: I bought two dozen of Donuts (Mixed). I loved the Blueberry one, the red velvet one and their version of the apple fritter (the twisted one in the photo). I cut all the donuts into several pieces so that everyone could taste everything. so... People liked the Blueberry donut and the Red Velvet Donut alot.... and some of them loved the "Apple fritter" (which has no apples at all, but has a Cinnamon flavor instead). I did not like much the other Donuts, some where dry and some where a little bit too chewy. Overall... good Donuts. ..... There are a couple of points that I would like to highlight in my review, one of which being: They did not have many choices, actually very limited choices and a very liited amount of Donuts. so, I do not really know what would happen if one were to show up at their place and ask for 100 donuts???? (Which is what I did few weeks ago for my wife's Birthday). and in my photos you can see that. The second point I want to make here is.... why they had two shelves of Donuts.... on the Bottom shelf are fresh Donuts and on the Upper shelf clearly are "older" donuts (and there is no doubt in my mind that those were old because they are wrinkly and the glaze is fading, and you can see that in my photos too). Now, I looked at all the photos that have been uploaded by other customers and I realized that they always have "older" Donuts on the top shelf and fresher donuts on the lower shelf. weird.... this is the first Donuts shop I visit who offers "Older" Donuts. are they cheaper, or what?!? I have seen Donut shops giving away older donuts to Homeless people but never out for sale in their shop. In my humble opinion this is not the best business practice.
STAFF: There was only one lady when I got there, she was friendly and nice even though she was clearly concerned when she realized I was taking photos (She even asked me "WHY ARE YOU TAKING PHOTOS OF MY SHOP??", then I explained and she said "Thank you").
CLEANLINESS: The place was clean and tidy.
PLACE: The shop is small, sort of minimalist style. pretty dry look and has no character, it does not make you feel welcome. I wouldn't have my breakfast there. they have four table total, each table for four guests, they have a coffee station and a refrigerator with soft drinks (soda) and milk-based drinks.
LOCATION: it is conveniently located next to the Willowbrook Methodist hospital.
PRICE: average.
CONCLUSION: I'll definitely go back to buy some Blueberries and red velvet Donuts. Also, they could work on the general look...
Read moreHere at MX Donuts, we would like to thank everyone who comes in to support our business as well as any reviews that are helpful for us to know about. To give status of some concerns as follows... We have just taken over from the previous owner and there are several things we are in the process of changing. Some of the traditions our customers love and some we will improve. We are going to be adding items to the menu, adding more variety and sprucing up also. As far as our donuts, they are made fresh each morning but we will be changing some of the recipes to ensure the best treats. Our Apple Fritter is made with apples and cinnamon and said to be one if the best tasting Apple Fritters by our customers, who some come specifically for them. We take large orders at least 48 hours in advance and currently handle large orders for a nearby church every 2 weeks. We donate any older donuts on Tuesdays and Thursdays to the food pantry.
Thank you for being patient with our new changes and we value your input as our valued customers.
Come and see us as we will have an additional Bistro menu starting in November.
Thanks again for your support.
We also have a new breakfast sandwich with sausage egg and cheese called donut slider plus peach cobbler cinnamon...
Read moreI give this 2 stars because the customer service is great and donuts are one of the best in the area, however NOT the chocolate glazed ones. Beware, they taste like chemicals. My daughter kept asking me to taste her chocolate twist after she took one bite and finally I did and was shocked at the immediate taste of nail polish. We ordered several different donuts and the rest were great well made, aged, risen and tasty but NOT any of the chocolate glazed we ordered. Glad my daughter didn’t eat more and was smart enough to stop and ask me...
