Took my family here for lunch at 3:10 to celebrate my daughters birthday. The waiter finally came after we sat there for 10 minutes and told me that it was dinner time even though in writing the menu states it didn’t start until 3:30. So I had to pay $28 per person for the all you can eat instead of $18 per person. By the way they raised their prices approximately $3 per person. I told the waiter that it was fine and we began to order ramen soup and sushi rolls. My daughter ordered the vegetarian ramen and didn’t like it so I gave her the spicy one I had and i took hers. It tasted so bland, kind of like mushrooms. I couldn’t finish it! It tasted that bad! On service, we thought the waiter was not attentive to us. We had to flag him down numerous times to just get a refill on our beverages. The tea tasted like watered down tap water and the sodas also didn’t taste good. After the meal I requested dessert for everyone and was told there was only vanilla and that the bean and green tea ice cream were unavailable. Another disappointment. While I was ordering my dessert the waiter told me that he was going to charge me extra if I didn’t finish my vegi ramen soup. That sounded hilarious! I’m a grown man paying with my own money and you have the audacity to tell me if I don’t eat all my food your going to charge me more for not eating all of my food. I told the waiter the vegi soup didn’t taste very good and the waiter told me that it was my problem not his problem. What an awful response for him to say to a paying customer. The waiter also told me that the owner was watching us to make sure we ate all our food. I guess someone gets a kick out charging people more for what they do not eat. I told him to go ahead and bring me my bill. Once I receive my bill I noticed that I was being charged an additional $6 for food that was not eaten plus a $42 tip! No way that waiter earned that tip. So I went ahead and paid for the horrible service my family and I received. To tell you the truth overall I felt upset and like I was overcharged, received poor service and the ramen tasted bland. With exception to the Spicy beef stew ramen. That was tasteful. Also, the lighting was bad I kind of felt like I was eating in the dark. This was supposed to be a great first time experience at a ramen house celebrating a birthday with my family and it was a horrible the entire time we were there. I’ll will never again go there and I would never recommend this...
Read moreI don't even know where to begin to describe the completely disrespectful and poor experience my girlfriend and I had last night. First of all, I have been coming to this restaurant for years as a solo patron as well as with my family. Aside from family or group outings, I always sit and dine right at the bar when you first walk in. We arrived around 930, and knowing that they closed at 10, and both of us having worked in the industry for quite a bit of time, we tried to be as quick as possible. The older, balding, bartender whom is always there, completely ignored us and walked past us several times as we tried making eye contact. There was one other patron at the bar who apparently was just sitting there not eating or drinking. I finally got his attention and asked him if we could order. He asked us if it would be dine in or to go, we politely asked him if we could dine in, and he replied that they will be closing soon, which we already knew, so we let him know we were ready to order as soon as he was since he spent a few minutes after we arrived blatantly ignoring us. We ordered, then he hastily dropped off our check without bringing any water or utensils... bear in mind its been a steady 100 degrees daily here in Houston. After he dropped the check, I politely asked him for water, and he only brought one glass! I gave this to my girlfriend and continued with no water. The worst part of all... he comes out with a to go bag of our food. When I mentioned to him we clearly asked if it was OK if we dined in, he shrugged and walked off. It seems he intentionally got out order wrong to force us out. The main restaurant dining area was still pretty full with other diners. Our order wasn't even correct. I ordered the Chicken Tom Yum which is supposed to be spicy and more flavorful, and I received some sort of bland alternative which was definitely not Tom Yum. I also ordered Sashimi... who the h**l ordered sashimi to go?! This was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a person, not just as a paying customer in a restaurant. It is a shame because I would always speak highly of this place to friends and family, and as I mentioned would frequent it myself. Seems like this place is going majorly downhill. A real shame, as it seems that they did used to care and focus on providing actual quality SERVICE at one point. Save yourself time, money, and respect and DO NOT...
Read moreBusiness hours are not updated on Google. Walked in around 4:30pm and was told they will open in 20 minutes. The lady up front was nice and let us sit in the lobby while waiting. She was not wearing a mask; understandably, she was on her 'break' but I feel that if you are not eating/drinking something then you should be wearing a mask if you're allowing customers to wait in the establishment. When it was time to open, she immediately wore her mask. She seated us at a booth right next to another booth with other customers. Absolutely zero social distancing and there was only 4 parties! Easily could've split us all up. Service was decent. Was not entirely happy that our server called me out on the amount of things I ordered. Completely uncalled for and unprofessional; if I am paying, then I should be able to order whatever I please without judgement/comments.
The AYCE menus were previously used; each and every one of them had pencil markings on them and were dirty. Server had to return to our table a few times to check what we ordered because it could've easily been mistaken as past markings.
I am only able to consume fully cooked items so I asked our server if the chefs were able to completely cook the flank of beef in the Texas Roll--spoiler alert: they could not. I never had that happen at any restaurant before. Seems a little odd that they weren't willing to satisfy a customer's request when it was as simple as tossing it back on the grill or microwaving it. I ended up getting a roll that was mediocre and overstuffed with rice (which my friend's rolls were too so I'm assuming all their rolls are similar). The pieces were huge and did not fit in my mouth so I basically had to break it apart and eat the ingredients alone.
Oh and to top everything off, my friend and I began to feel a bit queasy and unwell during our drive home. Hoping it is nothing more than just...
