this place takes the cake for worst experiences ive ever had with a restaurant.
never in my life have i experienced customer service as poor as this. my girlfriend and i went in the other day and ordered a hot chocolate and a vegan cheesecake because weve heard all kinds of great things about this place and boy were we absolutely disgusted with not only the quality of the food but the absolute berating we got while trying to talk to management about the poor quality of the food. it was absolutely bewildering.
never in my life have i been yelled at, gaslit, talked over and told how wrong i am by someone claiming to MANAGE an establishment.
FIRST OF ALL. the vegan cheesecake was rock hard and freezer burnt. i get it times are tough and you have to skimp back on the quality of your things but when i bite into a cheesecake im sure i speak for everyone when i say that ICE IN MY CHEESCAKE is not quality food. in fact its spoiled! YOU SHOULD NOT BE SERVING FREEZER BURNT FOOD. im more than certain if i called the health department they would have a field day with this kitchen. hope yall can afford that.
SECONDLY. WHEN A CUSTOMER CALLS TO REPORT THE FACT THAT YOU SOLD US SPOILED FOOD THE RESPONSE OF THE MANAGEMENT SHOULD NOT BE TO BERATE,TALK DOWN TO AND GASLIGHT THE CUSTOMER. like what is wrong with you? do you honestly believe you can stay in business like this?
THIRD. lets talk about the woman who sold us the food in the first place. i dont believe the hygeine of this person would pass health inspection. she was greasy and wearing an open cut shirt that showed off what looked to be an infected chest tatoo. you people dont have a uniform? do you even make your kitchen wear hairnets? i guess the health department can figure that one out too.
this place needs help. we were very excited to try this place out as we hear good things but i will absolutely be sure i tell everyone how wrong they are after i get off the phone with the health...

The menu is fresh and varied, and sometimes quite adventurous, with dishes changing seasonally. The vegetarian curry rice dish is one of my favorites; the gravlax (smoked salmon) is delicious, and very generously proportioned. The guacamole with ginger is extraordinary! The salads are HUGE for the price and very fresh, and the juices are potent. The teas are generous servings and are a great, healthy treat that offers a nice change of pace in the battle to stay hydrated.
The service is always friendly, and, yes, there is usually a short wait. The food is prepared fresh, to order - so I don't expect it to arrive instantly. This isn't fast food, waiting under warming lights. If that's what you want, you have PLENTY of options in this area! This food is definitely worth a brief wait. Creative, healthy, elegantly presented, and delicious.
And they are flexible - if you are short on time, you can call in your order - pick it up to go, or have your food delivered.
I'm not surprised to see that so many reviewers agree with me. :) As for the atmosphere being "hipster" as one reviewer noted, I suppose it is; there are a lot of young customers, especially late night. There is a lot to draw them in - the fresh food, the wifi, the creative opportunities (open mic, poetry night, art shows, movie screenings, etc), and of course, the late hours.
I am an older customer, and my observation is that (1) I have always been made to feel very welcome by the owners, the staff, and the other patrons (of all ages); (2) I regularly see "mature" people there as well as very friendly young people; (3) the mix makes it interesting and vibrant.
A delightful spot, in every respect. Always a great experience. So glad they chose this part of town - they are definitely...
