We went here after hearing good things about them. Our group of 5 arrived a little after they've opened and were the only group besides another table of two. We placed our order with the waiter - and I requested no veggies, no peanuts for our son's vermicelli with grilled pork because he's allergic to peanuts. My husband was going to share the dish with him so he asked for the veggies on the side instead.
Our dishes come out and there's peanuts in my son's bowl of food. The waiter was no where to be found and so we waved the other waitress over to let her know and she took it back. 5 minutes later, the waiter comes back, places the bowl down and tells me "Ua! chi noi voi em la lay dau phung ma. Chi noi bo rau rieng thoi." "you told me you wanted peanuts, just veggies on the side." We were shocked that the waiter would talk to us this way when we clearly said no peanuts, just veggies on the side. If he was confused, he could have asked to clarify but after seeing the receipt he clearly rung it in as only veggies on the side and didn’t even note no peanuts.
The rest of the food was fine but this experience left a horrible taste in our mouth and we won't be back. I guess the waiter felt it was okay to talk to us that way since they charge 18% tip...

Love the idea! BAD: all the ingredients are in quantity of 2 or more (2 of blood cake, 2 of beef slices, 2 of beef ham, 2 of tendon, etc.), EXCEPT ONLY ONE OF SHRIMP/CRAB CAKE! Should be 2 at least. Please tell the cook to be more generous!
Pho: GOOD: Highly recommended!!! delicious, authentic taste, hot stone bowl that keeps the soup constantly SUPER HOT for a long time, which is very UNIQUE that you can’t find anywhere else in Houston. The ingredients are kept separately, so you can easily control how well you want your RARE MEAT to be cooked, and the broth is still constantly hot after you dip your rare meat in, just like hot pot! Love it! Very generous on ingredients too, lots of meat! I WILL START CALLING IT “The Hotpot Pho”! Also, they use big noodle like the traditional Pho in Vietnam, which is a plus! BAD:...
Read moreI recently had lunch at Ocean Đà Nẵng Quán with a large group, and I was really looking forward to trying this spot, given the buzz around their authentic Vietnamese dishes. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the hype.
The highlights of the meal were the Bún Bò Huế and Bánh Nậm-both were flavorful and well-executed. However, the Mi Quảng and Bột Chiên were a major letdown. The Mi Quảng lacked the vibrant, fresh flavors I was expecting, and the Bột Chiên was underwhelming.
The service was just okay-nothing special, and a bit slow at times considering how many of us there were.
The restaurant itself was standard in terms of ambiance; nothing particularly memorable stood out. I came in excited to try Ocean Đà Nẵng Quán but left feeling disappointed.
If you're a fan of Bún Bò Huế, it might be worth a visit, but overall, I expected more from this...
