We had been adamant supporters of this restaurant since they first opened 5-6 years ago; however, all that changed with our first visit since they reopened a month ago. The first noticable difference was a considerably greener staff that was less coordinated than previous visits. The turnaround time for vacant tables was very high. Typically they used to be able to clean and seat a table in 3-5 minutes. This time multiple tables were vacant for well over 10 minutes. They quoted us an hour and a half wait time which was pretty much accurate but I felt that could have likely been 45min-1hr with a better table process.
Our waitress was nice and she was sincere about wanting to provide good service but one of our female patrons asked for a beer five times and never received one. Random orders kept popping up to our table. I really sincerely tried holding back when I told her we weren't satisfied. I already had to ask my buddies to let me handle the complaint because they were getting visibly less patient despite the server's effort.
The menu on the whole has changed, banchan is now paid for by the set, and you only get about an ounce of kim chi, sliced radish, and chives. It is no longer the same hospitable and bountiful atmosphere of complimentary Radish, KimChi, and Cucumbers that was served as needed by the request of the table.
Menu prices were always a bit higher than pther restaurants but the food quality was also considerably higher as well. This is no longer the case, especially for the Ohn Brisket which was literally the best barbecued brisket in the city at one point in time. Galbi is completely priced out of the range for this kind of restaurant. Would rather just spend the money at a good steakhouse.
On the whole, this has by far been the worst experience we have had with Ohn. I sincerely doubt we're coming back for a while as there were too many issues with the restaurant's food quality and service. I wish I could be nicer about this because Ohn used to be one of my favorite...

Not that I've got all the good things about this place out the way, let me talk about the bad stuff. Honestly, Food was really bad. To the point, like made me really feel bad for ordering so much food. Between the 5 of us, We ordered 7 items, and barely even touched it. And most of us haven't eaten in 12 hours, and we're starving. Honestly wouldn't even surprise me, if whoever made it, doesn't know anything about Korean food, but just got some random recipes online and started serving them. Presentations were good, which gave us high hopes. But the hopes were quickly crushed as we took each bite.
Army stew- the worst I've had, hands down. Worse than the one I had at this other place, and they admitted they messed up, because the chief wasn't there, so they got Jose to make it (not being racist, that was the dudes name). And he doesn't even know how it's supposed to taste like. Way too sweet. Water filled all the way to the top of the rim and ramen and the sauce was sitting on top. Had to take two bowls of water out just to get the ramen and sauce in the water without overflowing. When it was all done. It was 1.blend 2.too sweet 3.taste like tteokbokki just watered down. Ask the waitress to give me gouchujang, garlic, and soy sauce to try to save it, but apparently they don't have gouchujang or couldn't give it to us, but gave us the garlic and soy sauce. W.e.
Soy garlic wings- meh, it was over cooked. The meat was super dry.
Kimchi tofu - kimchi itself was super blend so the rest of the dish was meh. You're supposed to use extra fermented kimchi, but it wasn't.
Garbi- more like garbage. I wouldn't be surprised if it was store bought seasoning.
I could go on about how bad these food were, Honestly hope that people don't eat this as their first Korean food, thinking this is how they are supposed...
Read moreThey’re customer service is one of the worst I’ve had so far. Not only was the service barely friendly, they treated us like criminals that needed to be supervised.
From what I've heard through the grapevine, this place has had some issues with underage drinking, but that is not an excuse to give poor customer service & hover over your customers. My friends & I came here for a couple of drinks, but one of my friends did not feel well enough to drink. It was just the two of us drinking as she sat with her water. We considered ordering some sides, but since we had just eaten, we felt that we should wait a bit, so we kept a menu. The bartender drops off our first bottle of soju & informs us that if they catch us sneaking drinks to our friend who has not been carded, they will confiscate our drink. That is understandable, & we fully accepted this information. But after informing us this, her & the server & the host continue to walk around our table constantly. The host hovered over our table when there was no one to seat. They asked us if we wanted to order anything else every 5 minutes. & after the 5th time, the bartender brought us the check without our asking. At one point we were ready to order more, but after she brought us the check, it was obvious they were ready to rush us out. She told us that we needed to pay cash because it was under the $10 minimum, so we ordered a small drink to even out the number. When we got the check back, we waited an extra 10 minutes for someone to pick up our check. We pressed the call button twice. The same host walked around our table a number of times, but managed to avoid our check. I was holding the check away from the table, so imagine the effort her took to avoid it as much...
