So… Morii Coffee got a glow-up. Or maybe a full identity cleanse. I’m not saying my one-star review triggered a shift in the universe, but… I came back and suddenly there’s new ownership, new staff, and a little sign that basically says, “Same drinks, but now we’re actually nice!” 😂

The space still has that whole French country thing going on — chill lighting, soft colors, cute little tables — but now it feels more functional. Like, I could actually bring my laptop here without feeling like I’m disturbing the aesthetic. There’s even a big bench table for people like me who carry 17 devices and need room to overthink life decisions.

I tried the dragon fruit lemonade — super refreshing, not too sweet, and they didn’t drown it in ice (respect). The karaage (Japanese fried chicken)… hmm. It came out in chicken finger–style strips. Juicy, yes. Crunchy? Not really. It was giving “almost,” but the spicy mayo tried its best to make up for it. We’ve all been there.

Didn’t get to try the puff — which everyone else seems to love — but the regret is already brewing, so I’ll probably be back for that.

Also: outlets! Outside tables! Actual quiet! Basically, this coffee shop in Chinatown redeemed itself. Not perfect, but chill enough to make the regulars forgive and...

Cute coffee, tea, and snack shop with a cute interior. Came here several times back when it was BLKDOG and enjoyed it a lot. This was our first visit since they changed the name. Highlights are the matcha beignets, fries with spicy mayo, Kyoto Fog, and Seoul Fog.

Vibe: Vibe is chill and it remains a pretty popular spot so seating can be tough sometimes. People like to study or meet up with friends here.

Food: We ordered the fries with spicy mayo and iced vietnamese coconut latte. The portion for fries was big and very shareable. They were very flavorful and sprinkled with what tasted like furikake, giving it a nice umami, seaweed, sea salt flavor. Spicy mayo was also very good and had a good kick to it! The latte was too sweet and more than 3/4 of the cup was just ice, don't recommend getting it. Came with a friend who ordered the Seoul Fog (hot tea drink) and they said they really enjoyed it though. I usually get the Kyoto Fog and enjoy that a lot - perhaps their iced drinks just have too much ice.

Overall, we definitely recommend stopping by for matcha beignets, fries, or a hot tea-based latte like the Kyoto or Seoul Fog. We have not had luck with iced drinks here as they are too sweet or have way...
