Qilu Beef Soup 齐鲁牛肉汤 — Restaurant in Houston

I enjoyed this place! It’s kind of fast casual style where you order up front and then grab a seat. This was our order:

-Baked Flatbread (pork bc they were out of beef). Not a lot of meat. Wanted it to be either more toasted or flakey. Bread was more just chewy and a little mushy in parts.

-Mixed cold dish: spicy shredded potato, fried peanuts, cold cabbage. Really good. Recommend getting this to add some veggies to the meal.

-Signature Braised Beef Noodles: this was really big serving. We each got a whole order. I would consider next time mixing up and sharing one bowl together because it is so large. Great beefy flavor with umami, soy flavor, and spices. You can taste the star anise and the mix if earthy spices. It’s not spicy, but if you want you can add chili oil from the table. The noodles were perfectly cooked and very QQ.

this is a pretty new restaurant, the place is clean, its kinda like a self serve place, so you get your own drink from the teapot, is only water and tea, and when i was there the tea was cold. Anyway the mean focus was food, the Mixed beef offal soup tasted quite nice, good amount of content, flavourful soup, overall nice! but the good thing stopped there. My wife got the signatured braised beef noodles, the soup is flavorless, the beef was tough, and the noodles lack flavour and texture. beef backed flatbread is too doughy and not enough fillings. cold beef salad didnt tast like anything, too much raw onion and not enough meat. shredded potato and cabbage is too salty.
