📍One Dragon Restaurant 9310 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77036 One Dragon Restaurant is one of my favorite mom and pop Chinese restaurants in Houston. The specialty here is Shanghai Cuisine. the Chef is from Shanghai and he makes the most amazing soup dumplings or xiaolongbao in houston chinatown. I get cravings for the food here it’s very homey and delicious. I kind of always get the same thing, the braised pork belly, the xiaolongbao soup dumplings, the crispy bottom baos or sheng jian bao, sauteed vegetables with garlic, and the crispy red bean dessert. The soup dumplings are the best in chinatown! Made to order Shanghai style and very very soupy. the prices are very reasonable and the place is tiny. This is a total hole in the wall with just 10 tables. One Dragon Restaurant. #hous#houstonfoodd#foodtoko#xiaolongbaos#houstonrestaurantsa#momandpopn#chinatown

🇺🇸 Must-Visit Spots in Texas (Houston) 🇺🇸 May 2017 Been feeling pretty bored lately, so I scrolled through my phone photos and realized I’ve actually been to so many fun places—figured I should document them! 😛 I’ve lived on the East Coast of the U.S. for six or seven years, but I’ve been to Houston quite a few times, usually staying for about ten days each trip. I’ve hit all the typical tourist spots multiple times (like Space City—always tagging along with family or friends). For shopping, the Galleria downtown offers tax refunds, and there’s that street nearby (forgot the name 😂) lined with luxury stores that also does tax refunds—pretty great! Here, I want to recommend a Chinese restaurant opened by Shanghainese owners—seriously delicious. Every time I’m in Houston, I eat there multiple times. It’s called *Nong Tang Li* in Chinese, or **One Dragon Restaurant** in English. 📍 9310 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77036 The owners are super kind and welcoming. Their crab roe soup dumplings and braised pork are absolutely amazing! 🌟Alright, that covers the basics. Now, onto the places in the photos! **Kemah** is a stunning beach near the Space Center, just a short drive away. There’s a long boardwalk perfect for strolling, feeding seagulls, and plenty of amusement rides. Plus, there are some really unique and photogenic spots—way more interesting than your typical influencer backdrops. (Photos 1-4 are all from the seaside.) 🌟If you’re in Texas, you **have** to visit **San Antonio**! (Photos 5-7) I only stayed for a day and a night, but next time I’ll plan a longer trip. The main highlight was the **River Walk**—definitely book a boat tour! The ride is quite long, and you can buy tickets along the riverwalk or at hotels. Don’t remember the exact price, but it’s affordable. Boats fit around 10-20 people and depart once full. Drifting along, taking in the views, is such a relaxing experience. The breeze? Absolutely heavenly~ 🌟Photos 8-9 are from the **Houston Aquarium**, which also has a small amusement park with a mini train ride (forgot to snap pics of that 😂). Worth checking out if you’ve got time to kill. There’s even a tiger (white tiger?) in a massive glass enclosure—feels like you’re right next to it! Compared to the East Coast (like Boston), Texas isn’t the safest, so stay alert while traveling. Never leave valuables in your car (a friend had theirs broken into—laptop, phone, all stolen). Safety first, always! #Travel #Houston #Texas #SanAntonio #Kemah #Foodie #OneDragonRestaurant #RiverWalk #Aquarium #Wanderlust

I was so excited to try this place because I saw people talking about how good Xiao long baos were. ( I should have read google reviews and not trust ppl on TikTok) First this place only has max 10 tables. It’s very small. There was maybe 4 tables with people and we waited to be seated. They clearly saw my husband and I came in with a baby, but did not offer a high chair. We asked for one and then one of the ladies brought it. Ok no big deal. She left the menus and did not come back for 15 minutes. She never asked for our drinks or appetizers. We were ready to order in the first 5 minutes, but the 2 ladies working there kept ignoring us and attending new customers coming in. They took the orders of the other customers that came in 10 minutes later than us and never asked if we were ready. Even the table right next to us was attended to first and they didn’t even glance at us. I had to grab their attention by waving dramatically at the front and told her we’re ready to order. I ordered everything at once because at this point we were starving. I ordered a sprite, xiao long bao, pork belly and salt and pepper pork. They never brought us the sprite. After I saw the table get all their food before us I got impatient and asked for them to please bring us the sprite we ordered. Then they had brought over the pork belly, set it down at our table, and then I guess they wanted to serve their race first so they picked it back up from our table and gave it to the table next to us…. I was shocked. They brought all their food out first, the same items we had ordered before them. They then brought out our food last. Mind you we had gotten there first before all the other tables. I just wanted to eat and leave. Finally our food was brought out, one dish at a time. It was good but the service was not. I honestly felt discriminated because we were the only non-Asians in there, and they were attending everyone else but us. They brought us the wrong ticket(while we were still eating) and ignored me, until the table next to us pointed to us to get her attention. I paid by card and then left. As we were walking to our car one of the ladies ran after us demanding a tip!! I was seriously upset. She had the audacity to discriminate us, not ask us if everything was ok, never offered to go boxes, brought us our food after all other Asians got theirs even though we were there 20 minutes before them, and was still demanding us to tip her. I told her I was not and listed out those reasons to her. I couldn’t really understand everything she was saying, but I understood her say, don’t come back if you’re not going to tip. So I told her don’t worry, we’ll go to Mala Sichuan instead. Their food is better anyways and the service is not discriminatory there. So I can’t recommend this place. The service was terrible. I only give 1 star because the food wasn’t that bad. I really love Chinatown but this place left me feeling upset. We should have gotten up and ate somewhere else the minute it started to feel weird. (Now reading other reviews that they charged others extra tip on their card, I might have to call my bank and...

Attached are menu pics since they don't have a website and never answer the phone. But now, having visited for the first time, I understand why they don't answer the phone...it's a very small restaurant with a 2-3 person team at the front of the house.

I've been meaning to try this place now for months after a friend suggested I have it a try for the dumplings, understanding that I don't eat pork. I decided to give it a try anyway. Parking in the area is abysmal, but that's the whole complex, not just this one restaurant.

I was seated immediately and offered a flask of water with a lemon in it - the same flask/water used by the previous table patron with sink/tap water added to it. That is -1 star 🌟

Looking at the menu, I decided on the beef scallion. When it came out, it was maybe a few marks above the standard beef scallion at any other Chinese restaurant. In all fairness, it tasted the same as Tan Tan or Sinh Sinh. Very salty but flavorful.

I wanted to order some vegetable boa but they said I could only get it to-go 🤔 So I ordered a half order and the waiter charged me accordingly which I appreciated. However, when I got it, I was told I would have to cook/steam it at home (?!). I don't own a steamer and I don't cook, which is why I went to a restaurant for food lol. Anyway, still not sure why it wasn't cooked at the restaurant but they told me to microwave it for 10-15 minutes under a wet paper towel. When I got home, I did just that...2 minutes per boa. It tasted okay but I am not sure if this was made at the restaurant or if it was frozen product, and it didn't come with any kind of sauce which is pecuiliar. For all of this, minus another star 🌟

I am sure the soup dumplings are fantastic as the place was packed and going through a steady cycle of people ordering dumplings. If you're interested in that, then give them a try. If you're not interested in soup dumplings, however, you're better off going to another larger Chinese restaurant on Chinatown. I won't...

I loved the pork soup dumplings here. I originally went about two weeks ago and was blown away by how savory and perfect they were. I thought 6 steamed dumplings for $8.99 is worth it when they taste this good!

I can't recommend this place after what happened at dinner time last night, 8/20/23.

After raving about this place to my friends, I ordered 4 servings of the dumplings for us to split, and as my main meal because I didn't want to order anything else. The first 2 containers of dumplings came out great, but the second half of the order never came.

After waiting about 30 minutes, we explained to the waitress that our total of 4 orders of dumplings never came. Only half of the ordered amount was given to us. After about 10 more minutes of waiting and trying to explain what happened, the waitress came out and showed us our order, and that 4 penciled check marks next to the order meant that we had received all of our food, but he hadn't! We tried explaining over and over that we only got half of our dumplings and when I said "we're not lying to you, please feel free to check the cameras! We only received 12 total dumplings, not 24" the waitress rolled her eyes at me and scoffed.

I was shocked. I've never been treated so disrespectfully when all I asked for was the food that I had ordered. We ended up paying for 4 orders of dumplings, when we only received 2 orders. My fiance tipped an extra $20 and told them "seriously, we never got the full order of dumplings" to try to get them to see that the organization is poor for delivering food, and that accusing the customers of lying immediately is not the way to be.

Because of this, we will be going to another soup dumpling place. The poor service and rude staff ensured...
