Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Houston

Right next door to Dunkin', which was not open for dine-in when we went—but Schlotzky's is. We went here on a Friday afternoon.

Nice, quiet place to sit and work. There are power receptacles at some tables for your devices. When you're really in the mood for something sweet, there are Cinnabons a plenty here. I had the turkey salad, and while it's not earth-shattering amazing, it's a very nice mix of ingredients.

Initially, when I learned about this place, I found their website says they carry gluten-free pizza. That caught my interest, since not many joints around the Bay Area/El Camino area have nice gluten-free pizza. I called, and while they (yes, this Schlotzky's) thought they carried it, after asking for several days in a row, it seems like they don't get shipments of that crust. Oh well.

I NEARLY was impulsive to give them 2 stars for not being as advertised online (I mean about the pizza—nothing else!), but I'm glad I held off on it, because when we came in here, we actually ended up enjoying the dining experience that it doesn't matter as...

Ordered Strawberry Chicken Salad. I get this salad all the time at the location intersection of hwy 8 tollway and Interstate 45. However this location the salad was barely edible. The strawberries are slimy and mushy. Picked them out. The croutons are not the Schlotzsky's ones. It came in Styrofoam container that gave me maybe about 60% of what I normally get and this is not a cheap salad. Today my stomach was queasy because of my migraine and this was the only thing that sounded good. I'm not eating it. I got about 3 bites in and just couldn't do it. Very disappointed. The menu outside was taped together. I had to gain the attention of the staff in the drive through b4 they knew I was there after about 3-4 minutes. The lady was very nice but the restaurant not impressed one bit. Never going back...

I tried to get something from their drive thru on a break between rain during Harvey because I needs to get ice and I saw they were open. In actuality they had been closed for the 30 mins I waited in the drive thru line. I had driven by a ton of places and they where the only one and they had a line AROUND THE BUILDING and letting people sit there in their cars waiting to order while they where closed. No one came out to say anything. No one apologized, I tried to get the franchise owners name and number but they wouldn’t give it to me. I know this is about a few months ago. But I am still really upset about the fact they let us all sit there and wait 30 mins to roll up the the drive thru and be told they are closed. When you could have had the manager come out...
