I do deliveries and usually when I hv orders at this particular location, and the male worker(s) (I forget his name however he is young man with reddish hair) are present/working, I am well taken care. Unfortunately,Not today, when the ladies/women are working, I received the absolute worse customer service in the world… either that or the women workers don’t speak English (which I don’t understand because this is America and the spoken language is English). I suppose the owner saves with cheap labor at the expense of lack of customer service. Not one worker acknowledged me, greeted me or offered me service/help upon my entry into the store. As I politely waited I noticed that other customers entering the store were all greeted in Spanish and were offered serviced/helped promptly. Sadly, to receive assistance/help/service, I had to interrupt the worker while she assisted the elderly man behind me to avoid waiting 10 more minutes. I finally received assistance/helped through my own initiation. This was a very sad and poor experience (repeat experience), I do speak Spanish, however, I should not hv to in order to receive service/help at any business, company, restaurant, store and/or establishment. I would love for the manager and/or owner to review my complaint (you may watch your cameras between 5:45am-6:00am on 05/08/2025) instead of sweeping it under the rug and/or...
Read moreBEWARE! and BE AWARE! This location is selling WIENERS in their sausage Kolaches. I stopped by to grab a few this morning (11/30/13) for me and my dog. He loves their Kolaches and was acting a nut until i gave him his'.....in the car. He took one bit and spit it out. I pulled over to see what was wrong, thinking I had mistakenly given him my spicy Kolaches. I had not, but i notice the sausage looked a lil funny. I bit into the two remaining and different kinds and they were Wieners. They are definitely WIENERS! The damn dog wouldn't even eat it!
Make note that I am calling the city, the state and federal agencies and file a compliant. I am a foodie-you do not play with my food-and you don't F with my money. I expect to get what is advertised and what i've paid for. I will not be back.
Oh, they also have done something to the bread, it is gummy and stale tasting, even when it is still hot.
The guy who said he was the manager name Leo is confrontational. When you know you are cheating folks....just be humble, apologetic and try to maintain some dignity when you doing your...
Read moreThanks to the recommendation of my cousin from Louisiana, she advised this was the BEST place to get beignets outside of Louisiana (or maybe even better than!)!
So I had to check it out…
While there was an unfortunate delivery issue - no fault to the store themselves, thankfully the store manager helped rectify the situation.
I am extremely grateful to this location’s manager for helping me out, as who knows when I will have an opportunity to try these again, let alone be in Houston.
Their beignets did not disappoint, especially since the manager made sure I had fresh ones (& fresh coffee) when I arrived!
I recommended to anyone that this place is a MUST for the beignets AND Note, not all Shipley locations offer beignets.
While they traditionally have icing sugar on top, we chose the cinnamon / sugar mix option instead (LOVE this version).
If I’m ever back in this city, I’ll be sure to make a b-line to one of their locations for another fix of their beignets (& coffee). I regret not buying a baseball cap… Lol
Thanks much!
