Slow Pokes Coffee Shop: A Great Place to Get Coffee and Roasts for All Houston Locations
Slow Pokes Coffee Shop is a great place to get coffee in Houston. The Long Point location is one of the more spacious locations, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. They also roast the coffee for all Houston locations here, so you can be sure that it's fresh and delicious.
I recently went to Slow Pokes for a cup of coffee, and I was not disappointed. The coffee was roasted perfectly, and it was served hot and fresh. I also tried a slice of their banana bread, and it was moist and flavorful.
The service at Slow Pokes was also excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they were happy to make recommendations. I would definitely recommend Slow Pokes to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee in Houston.

Instead of owning that and apologizing, you tried to redirect the conversation to what was printed on a receipt.
Let me be clear:
I read the policy. I paid as a guest in your shop. And I shared honest, respectful feedback — including compliments about your pricing and team. In response, you wrote:
“From Louisiana, makes sense.” “Go enjoy yourself at the local library where WiFi is free.” That is classist, regionally prejudiced, and wildly unprofessional — especially in a city that welcomed thousands of displaced Louisianans after Katrina. You insulted not just me, but every student, hourly worker, and out-of-state guest who has ever walked into your business.
I’m sharing this publicly because people deserve to know how you treat paying customers when they speak up. If you change your stance and issue a real apology, I’m open to conversation. But if you continue deflecting responsibility, I will continue sharing this story — because businesses need to be accountable for how they treat people.
This was a chance to take feedback with grace. You chose...
Read moreGoing to delete later, just wanted this to get the right attention. The food is really great as well as the atmosphere, but there has to be a better system for call ahead orders. We placed a call ahead order so it was ready and fresh when we got there, but that completely went out the window with the current system in place. Being busy is understandable, but we saw our food ready when we walked in and were told we still had to wait 20 minutes behind customers who still had to order while the food is just sitting out getting cold because there is only the one line to pay. They need a better way to prioritize call ahead and online orders, because waiting in line with everyone else who still needs to place their order really defeats the entire purpose instead of being able to pay when you arrive; especially when most customers have questions or customizations, which is understandable but again defeats the purpose of ordering ahead when you still have to wait just to pay when yours is ready. We love grabbing a quick bite from here, but its not really "quick" with the current setup. In short, the food and atmosphere is great, but they live up to their name with the current order ahead...
