So today I go into Starbucks. Nobody speaks to me while I’m getting my cup out of my bag. The lady asks what I would like—mind you, I’m at this table, I haven’t even walked all the way up to the counter yet. I answer, “Dark roast, venti. That’s it.” I put the cup down and say, “In this cup.”
She then says, “In this cup?” like it’s not right by her hand, plain as day. I come here often enough for them to know my face. I honestly believe this person be drunk sometimes because on other occasions she’s really loud and moving kinda funny.
And there’s more. I went some months back—there was this lady, about 5’10”, with braids at the time. She made me wait about 15-20 minutes for a dark roast. Long story short, I go to the counter and she acts like I never ordered. Then, when she realizes she didn’t make my coffee, she immediately starts making it but never said sorry or anything. She just handed me the coffee and walked away.
So I’m like, you know, maybe I’m tripping. I go back another day—same person. I ask for a dark roast, venti, and I specifically say no cream, no sugar. The lady says, “Oh, the sugar and cream is over there.” I thought to myself, if I hadn’t said anything, they usually ask. Well, maybe they’re doing things different now.
So I go again, same person, same coffee. This time I don’t say anything about no cream, no sugar. The lady says, “Would you like cream or sugar?” I’m like oh nah, she’s definitely messing with me at this point. Ain’t no way she just asked me this.
I get on the phone with my woman and I say out loud to her, “Why do people mess with other people, and then when people start acting crazy and start putting hands on them, now they’re the problem?” And I busted out laughing because at this point, this is just laughable.
I guess she heard me because I saw her face go from a creepy smile to a frown. Next thing I know, she’s bringing me my coffee from the register, handing it to me like Alfred from Batman. I said, “That’s all I had to do to get some respect around here.”
Now, back to the recent events—I have a video I’m going to upload of me walking in. Nobody spoke to me—not one person. That’s definitely not the Starbucks way. And on top of her being rude—God don’t like ugly—because as soon as she tried to pour my coffee, she got burned.
You think she went and told anybody? Nope. She walked to the back eventually the nice Asian guy mad me coffee apologize since I had to wait about 10 minutes before they got to me. All I ordered was a dark roast—that’s it. Nothing crazy.
So this might be my last time going there. Also, let me add—the light-skinned lady with the glasses never speaks and always looks at me with an attitude. Before she saw me with my woman, she was cool—that all switched after that.
The main people who are professional and cool are the men and the tall lady who’s the manager. Other than that, they all be tripping. And even when they do speak, it’s dry—but I see them screaming hello at their favorite customers.
Mind you, I’m quiet and respectful when I come in. I make direct eye contact. I never give these people any problems. I only ever get one dark roast...
Read moreToday I ordered an iced latte, but I placed it at the wrong store accidentally, (hillcroft & 59) (forgot to switch from my job store to my house store). I called them and asked them if there was anything I could do because I was 15 mins away. They guy on the phone told me, I can go to my closest store and let them know what happened and they would make it for me. I was already driving that way in case I couldn't change it. I stopped at my closest store 610 & Braeswood, I was greeted by a gentleman. I explained the situation, he said ok and asked the girl working with him to make it. The first time she did it Grande I told her it was venti, she apologized and remade it. She hand it to me and I asked her to please put cinnamon dolce sprinkles (topping on top) she looked at me and said --- I have other orders, I'm too busy for that, are you taking it yes or no? --- I replied - is ok thank you. I left and tried to let it go, because it was my fault I didn't realized I hadn't changed the store. I was tired from work and my baby was crying and tired also. On my way home I took a sip out of it and it was impossible to drink it. It was way too strong and it had no flavor at all. It was a plain shot of coffee with whipped cream on top and a lazy mocha drizzle. I couldn't drink it. I stopped at my home store (s main & bellfort) I explained what had happened to the person in the drive thru. He apologized and immediately made another one. I order the same thing all the time, and it gets done the same way. I'm not sure if she gave me plain coffee or didn't put enough syrup. But that iced cinnamon dolce latte 610 & Braeswood gave me was impossible to drink. And I understand it was my fault for ordering at the wrong store, but I don't believe that was the right response. I could've waited if she had asked me to. I'm not going back to their store since they're too busy for customers, and sometimes i would stop at this store on my way to work at 6am, but not anymore i rather skip it and not buy anything. I just want to say S Main store is a 10/10. The barista who helped me was Alex and another young lady (forgot to ask for her name) they were really understanding and that latte was delicious. Definitely comming back. They made me feel welcoming. They didn't had the obligation to helped me or fix it for me. And they did. They made a complete new drink (the right way) made my evening. Made me feel better and even apologize for the other store. I will definitely be more careful next time. Alex and the young lady were great. THANK...
Read moreAn unexpected suprise finding this place, but it appears the Reliant Center coordinator along S. Main is being revitalized. Found this Starbucks after a wrong turn looking for a place to pop in early one morning before heading over to the Texans/49ers open practice.
What struck me was the small parking lot, which I felt would translate into a large store. Nope. Nada. Nunca. The store is shaped like a capital letter "I". But, what they lack in space they try to make up in minimalist chic: funky chairs, spare tasteful art on the walls and a lovely counter that runs the length of the store. The place looks like if Ikea & Starbucks had a love child. No, what a hip coffee startup would look like in a trendy hotel or upscale new airport. But, I surmised quickly, this store was about maximizing a prime real estate location, it's sleek efficient with no bells or whistles. They want you to get your coffee and go. Which was on full display with all the well dress working professionals grabbing and going with their call in orders. This is a store for them. Sadly, re service I saw what is now commonplace, a large staff of millennials providing poor customers service because they don't know what it looks like. There was more cutting up going on by the staff, than nap time at the local daycare. There was so many repeated apologies to customer's for not having an key ingredient for a certain drink, taking to long to make her orders (remember, busy professionals, so fast & good service is paramount) & just being too loud, too hyper & playful young adults. It's was like daycare. So, to me a distracted worker is an unproductive worker. But, despite a small parking lot, a small store, and awkward routes to get to & from the store and a staff of Generation Ys. Starbuck's brand overcomes by drawing them like...
