I got to an almost empty drive thru and was told over the intercom they would be with me in just a minute. I said no problem, there were two cars ahead of me. Then the lady asked what I would like, I said "a spinach feta wrap please". She responded "uhh... ok. Anything else?" I said "yes, please a mocha frappuccino". I heard her respond "what's that?" so I repeated myself more loudly. Then again "whats that?". I thought I was not being loud enough so I said it again even louder, almost yelling. She got really upset and yelled at me "WHAT SIZE?!!!!!!!!". Wow I did not realize she was asking "what size" and not "what's that" so I said "I'm sorry! I could not hear you, grande" her response was "its going to be 9.09 at the window". I felt terrible and was ready to apologize again but when I got to the window she was whispering to the cashier and he just made his eyes big and said something like "wow" under his breath. I said thank you to him twice, when he gave me the wrap and when he gave me the frappuccino. I never got a thank you back from him. Previously, I had never had a bad experience here. She could have easily rephrased her "what size" to "tall, grande or venti". I've worked customer service, people are terrible sometimes but she was out of line. Even if she would not apologize to me she did not have to gossip to her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has absolute garbage internet. I've used 100 mbps and 10 mbps download speeds. This feels like it's 25-50% of that.
The employees here are nice, the atmosphere is nice and large like a typical starbucks and the quality of the drinks / etc. are all fine and normal. It fits the bill for a typical starbucks. I wouldn't rate or review a starbucks normally. But for those of you who go to starbucks to get some work done and would like to use the internet... AVOID this place. I've been here a handful of times and everytime I come it's terrible internet. The free internet they give you at an airport or some crappy hotel is 5 times faster than this place. I'm looking around and there aren't an unusual # of people connected, maybe 5-8 - definitely not like 20 people here (or other times that I've been here). The staff seemed to know the internet sucks here when I asked. When I mentioned a JPEG or image loading like over 5 seconds, with 20% of the image - wait 1-2 sec, 20% more, wait 1-2 sec, 20% more... he was like, "Oh, you mean like the 90's internet?" I said, yeah. That's what it's like, the 90s.
Avoid this place if you need internet beyond loading text only webpages and not anything with pictures, video, maps, amazon, anything...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreš This Starbucks sits right between the Heights and the Washington Corridor, making it one of the most convenient stops before heading out of Houston on I-10. It's a great location if you need coffee before a road trip.
š There are plenty of tables, which are helpful if you need to catch up on a bit of work or meet a colleague for a quick chat.
š The music was at a comfortable level, not blasting like some other stores. It made the space more inviting to actually sit and without damaging the hearing of patrons.
š When I visited, several employees were standing idle while only one register was open. There was an indecisive customer taking forever to order, and the line grew longer before someone finally decided to open a second register.
š After all that waiting, I was told the drink I wanted was āout of season,ā even though it was still shown on the menu. That was frustrating, and it couldāve been handled better.
š On another visit, I placed a mobile order and waited nearly 30 minutes while working on an article, glancing up between paragraphs to see if my drink was ready. It never appeared. When I finally asked, the barista pretended it had been sitting at the pickup area all along.
š To make matters worse, the drink didnāt taste...
