If you asked me a few months ago how I would rate this place I would have rated it 5 stars because Sam (the previous owner) actually paid attention to the details and quality of food! Now, this place deserves 1 star!!! We have been long time clients - we would come every single Friday at lunch to eat with our family and friends and never had a complaint. Today was the first time we visited since Sam sold the place and our first Monday to take advantage of the deal of get a gift card of the same amount you spend on your visit for another day. Well, we showed up at 4:45 pm, ordered our food and expected to get that deal. Nope! That didn't happen - as a matter of fact they don't even have the courtesy to bring it up and offer you that special or even remind you of what time it begins! I spoke to the manager about it and he acted vey condescending and rude, he pretty much didn't care that we were literally a few minutes early and that his cashier didn't even bring it up. He cared more about a dime! He said that it would cost him money to refund and get us the gift card than to appreciate a customer and understand that we were not aware that if we waited 10 more minutes we would be eligible for the deal. Unfortunately, this was not the only issue - sadly, the food quality has also gone downhill. The "slap your self" tasted like I was eating nothing but mayo. The spicy salmon and the spicy tuna had no spice or flavor and the unagi roll was literally half the length from our previous orders and the rice on all of the rolls was falling apart! This order had the quality of the subpar sushi rolls from a chinese buffet! Not worth my $50!!! This will be the last time we will ever place a foot near this place. Sam friendliness is definitely missed and so is the quality...
Read moreBased on my first visit I'm giving it 5 stars.
The woman who helped me was attentive, knowledgeable, and accurate. The location wasn't the most fancy, but was kept clean and welcoming.
I ordered a bowl and the trio roll. The cubes of yellowtail in my bowl were a perfect bite size and most importantly, Fresh! The roll was tight and the ratio of the ingredients was balanced (not too much rice).
I didn't like the cafeteria style cups (personal thing) but I'm not going to knock off a star for cup style.
I see many people complaining about the price but I disagree. You get a bowl with a base(rice or salad), protein (I had a very nice handful of beautiful and fresh yellowtail!!), 6 mix ins, sauce, tax, everything for $10 (+/- your customizations). This is basically what I'd spend on lunch anywhere else. Two slices of pizza and a drink from whole foods, a meal from Chick-fil-A, etc are all in the same price range. If you need a $1 menu, then sushi isn't exactly an option to begin with. But for fresh raw fish it's not pricey.
I only wish I lived closer so I could visit more frequently.
Best "fast food" sushi/poké place I've been to!! (most don't offer yellowtail)

If you’re going to come here, I recommend that you know what you want to eat or else you’re gonna be standing around staring. I did have a good experience but I honestly did not enjoy the food as much as I wanted. Even with the simple kind of rolls I did receive, they didn’t have any flavor and tasted bland (unless I’m being too critical about it). The atmosphere is nice. The customer service is great.
The only other downfall of this place is also the pricing. I feel personally that most of the menu is overpriced compared to a lot of places I do go too. But again, the economy is rough right now so they probably need to make a profit of some sort. Who knows, I read too much into everything.
I may try this place again but at this time I don’t know when the next...
