Teotihuacan — Restaurant in Houston

Yes!!! Yes!! And yes!!!!! The minute they brought the chips and salsa and the salsa and chips were good, I knew the food would be good! The chips are served warm they're the good chips not the cardboard looking/feel like ones I've been getting lately. It's been a while since I've had such an amazing experience!! The food. 10/10 it was fresh you could tell it was just made! I didn't even take a before pic! Cause like a fata.. I couldn't even wait! The food smelled and tasted good! Good flavor! They have a full bar but we just had beer so not sure how the drinks are. The service. 10/10 We were immediately seated, order taken! Chips and salsa always filled, drinks always filled. They kept checking on us, we were asked if everything was ok and if we needed anything! They had nice Christmas decor, you can tell the owners care. Which leads into how clean the place looks!! 😔 What can I say? It's okay. Nothing really great here. I don't know how old this restaurant is but their napkins were straight out the box and hard as cardboard. The food is authentic but lacks seasoning. The beans especially lacked flavor. I did not appreciate the staff( waiter) rushing me and trying to take my plates before I was done eating. Because I felt rushed and like they needed my table I left only $7 as a tip. I usually tip better but i felt rushed to get out. The enchilada was not as hot as it looks. Didn't have a fresh flavor. The fajitas were mid. Nothing spectacular here. Maybe the rushing me out the door left a bad taste in my mouth, I'm not sure. I don't think I'll be back. This place could use a lot of improvement. I didn't realize that there are two separate Teotihuacan restaurants on the same street. When I found out that I was at the wrong one (my friends were waiting for me at the other location), the lady behind the front counter was so cool to me. She immediately knew what happened when she saw me coming to the counter with the tea that they had just brought to my table. "Wrong one?" (she must get that a lot) "Yes" 🤦‍♀️ She told me not to worry about the tea, and then gave me directions to the other location. There were a lot of things to choose from on the menu!
