I am rating this particular location solely on its customer service. My boyfriend and I were greeted by a young man at the door - whom by the way, had his pants sagging and we could see his underwear. Being both old school, we found his lack of professional business attire offensive. He seated us at one of the table booths with our menus and utensils. While waiting for our waiter/waitress, we reviewed the menu. 15-20 minutes later, we were still not greeted by our waiter/waitress assigned to our table. Three different waitresses/female employees passed our table several times, without asking if we would like a glass of water or something to drink. While there was a party of four young people seated next to us, being served their drinks while they’re still looking at their menus. That party came in the restaurant ten minutes after we arrived and were seated. Other patrons around us were being served and attended to, as well. Except for us. This triggered my boyfriend who experienced being ignored or not being served in restaurants in the past, due to being Black. This doesn’t mean that this was the reason why we were not served, but it triggered his prior negative experiences. So we decided to leave.
I requested to speak with the manager running this restaurant. He came outside and I explained what happened. He apologized for the lack of professionalism of his employees and offered us a free meal. We declined his offer and informed him, we would’ve loved to enjoy a meal, but we will not be returning due to their poor customer service and lack of professionalism. It is inexcusable for Management trying to placate unhappy customers by giving a “free meal” for their employees’ lack of professionalism and need to start holding them accountable for their actions and behavior.
Customer service is very important in running a business. It’s what helps sustain their patrons and makes the business successful. Management needs to readdress the importance of customer service and being professional.
As for the food, I couldn’t rate the food since we didn’t have a waiter/waitress to order anything. We were really looking forward in enjoying a nice breakfast at this restaurant due to its highly positive ratings and left greatly...
Read moreWe came on a Sunday and it was busy . Our server was triple sat so I understood the wait . However we were not offered any straws . The server just offered to give us water . We had no silverware up until we asked a food runner who brought out our food for some . The food runner gave us a terrible attitude when we asked for the silverware . As someone who is also a server, I understand being in the weeds . However everything that happened that day was so preventable , it showed to me that the waitress was inexperienced . She came by and asked a couple of tables who had the macchiato and who had the latte . Usually a ticket is printed out to tell you what table had what for a drink . Being greeted with silverware is usually how most restaurants present there silverware. Our table was small and it made me uncomfortable when the server used our table to write the order instead of her server book , which she clearly had in her apron . When the food arrive it was cold and not hot at all . The food was bland and the hollaindaise sauce tasted like straight butter and was already separating . I watched as her other tables which she claimed to be triple sat left . While we’re left eating food that was bland and cold . The French toast we got was soggy and underdone .We didn’t complain , but I was use to going to another toasted yolk that usually has better food . And to top things off , our server asked us mid way through our meal how we were going to pay . And she even asked us if we needed a to go box while we were not finish eating at all . That is a big no one the service industry . It made me feel like she wanted us to hurry up and get out . This gesture made me want to leave even though I wasn’t finished .Overall I would never...
Read moreI arrived at this location and ordered shrimp and grits. I went to the restroom while waiting on my order. While I’m in the restroom, the next person in the stall yells, “You can’t be in here. It’s for women only”. Being that I was on the phone, I continued to let her speak without interruption until she finished expressing how I should not be in the women’s restroom. I proceeded to finish in the restroom and noticed that she was just standing there looking at me through the gap which made me feel even more uncomfortable at this point. I walked slowly out the restroom trying to put a face to the voice. Unfortunately, it was an employee. She looked me in my face as I turned around and showed her on my phone to the ppl I were on the phone with. She just proceeded to walk in the back. I continued to walk up front and asked for the manager. The manager came and I explained to him the situation. He offered to pay for the meal. Then he went to the back and asked the employee to apologize. I was VERY uncomfortable but I would have been more uncomfortable if it had caused a more bigger scene than it had already created. Establishments, unfortunately, think satisfying a customer is providing them something for free. I came there to eat and therefore, I could afford to pay for my food. I was just there with my wife earlier this week and we dined in and did not have any issues. The things a black lesbian woman who has a deep voice has to experience. Rather not judge my voice but the person you see is beyond unreal to me. Will not...
