Love the Avocado Toast they have there, and who doesn't LOVE a Jelly Donut, right? The Jelly Donut has been my fav since Childhood and remains that way. It's great that they are Open 24/7 on those occasions when you crave a Jelly Donut, however, if you do go to the Dunkin Donut location at 763 S. Michigan Ave late at night, always check your order and your Change BEFORE you pull away from the Pickup Window. I've had 2 bad experiences at this location within about a week time frame, and this was the first 2 times ever going to the Drive-thru at a Dunkin Donuts. The first time, I ordered an Avocado Toast and 2 Jelly Donuts, get home and park, and realize they only gave me ONE Jelly Donut, instead of 2 (they were not even busy at the time). So, I called them before ever getting out of my Car and told them, and they said if I wanted to come back they would give me another Jelly Donut, so I did go back, since I live fairly close. That was a bit annoying to have to go back, plus the extra high dollar Gas right now, but they did give me 2 Donuts when I went back, instead of just the One they had shorted me, so that was resolved fairly well. The 2nd incident did NOT have such a good ending. It was about 7 days later, also late at night, about 11:30pm, and I went there for 6 Jelly Donuts (nothing else). The total, with Tax, came to $7.49, and I paid with a $20 dollar bill. I actually stopped in the Parking Lot, before getting to the Ordering Spot, and got out the $20 to have ready, therefore, I'm 1,000% absolutely SURE that I paid my Bill of $7.49 with a $20 dollar bill. There was No one else in line at the time, but just as the Girl gave me my order and my Change, another Car pulled up behind me, so I immediately pulled ahead so as not to hold that person up any longer than necessary, but I just pulled ahead enough to give them room to pull up, and I stopped long enough to put my Change in my front Shirt Pocket. Then I left and drove home, but as soon as I parked, before getting out of my Car, I took that Change back out of my Shirt Pocket to put in my Wallet. Now remember, my total was $7.49 for 6 Jelly Donuts, and therefore, my Change SHOULD have been $12.51, as in, a Ten and 2 Ones, plus 51cents...but to my shock, they had only given me 2 Ones (singles) and the 51cents, so I was SHORTED the $10. My first reaction, was to call right back (like I had done on the previous problem), but then decided for a couple of reasons, to wait and call back in the morning. One reason was, that I figured there would be a Manager there in the morning, who could likely check to see if they showed an Overage of $10 that morning, and the other reason I waited, was because after this being the 2nd problem in less than 2 weeks time, I kinda figured there had to be some pretty Ditzy employees working there, so I would likely get nowhere by calling back at that time. The following day I was very busy and unfortunately, I totally forgot to call during the day, and ended up calling the next day after that, so 2 full days later. That was my fault for not calling sooner, but not sure the result would have been any different though. When I did finally call, I did speak to the Manager, but much as I expected, to No avail, as she had Zero interest in even entertaining the mere thought that they could have made such a mistake as to short someone $10. She supposedly checked the morning in question, while I was still on the line, to see if there was any Overage that particular morning, and lo & behold, was told there was actually a SHORTAGE of $43 that morning! Well, I gotta be honest, I absolutely was not expecting the outcome to be anything other than what it was, but that being the case, my $7.49 Donuts now became $17.49 Donuts, and those were some damn expensive Donuts, right!?! A LESSON well learned.. NEVER pull away from that Pickup Window until after U check BOTH, that your Order is Correct, and more importantly, that you received the Correct...
Read moreThis is the third time that I've been in this location ( I like to get ve chances)that have had terrible service. I end up feeling sorry for the one girl that is getting trained that recognizes you after your in line for 5 minutes and walk next door to get ice cream out of pure frustration that fast. Unfortunately I wanted what I wanted so I went back to Dunkin and 6-7 employees watched me get back I line and the same trainee looked frightened but asked me nicely if she could help while the other seven are standing there too worried about cleaning up and doing shift change or whatever instead of taking care of the customer. The customer is the person who pays for your doors to be open. Hence the person that keeps the business to float to get you paid. I'll never go back to this location again . I get coffee next door every single day. It's just sad that the new person was trying to do the right thing and then the new person looks like she was flustered and there was no one there to train her. She was so nice. Then when the person did get there to trai her they kind of tried to push her out of the way instead of training her correctly. Sad to say that I had to have a bad experience at a place you're supposed to be happy at. Good luck Way to many staff on at 10p.m to not give great service. You should pride yourself on friendly customer service and be professional about it As far as management goes they need some. To organize, clean, train, meet your customers and run the most basic corporate set up there is. I know there are hard workers no kids in Livingston county if they are shown but if you give them an inch you will lose them and you'll never get them back. It's how these generations are. You must keep them interested and continue the challenge them. It's not their fault but it's your responsibility to train and help grow and show the young folks in this community how to treat people and know that people and good attitudes care me first when it comes to business. I hope you change things. See you in 30 days to see...
Read moreI promised myself to wait a couple of hours to write this review because...wow. I guess I should start by noting this one of the only times I've been here. My son woke up with an unusual request which was, "Can we go get donuts?" Dunkin' Donuts is the place for that, right?
We arrived there about 9:45am on Saturday, and it was absolute chaos. Both the line to order and the line waiting for sandwiches were much longer than what we would have typically tolerated, but we decided to stay. The donuts we ordered were standard, and the cashier struggled to find each on on the register. We also ordered sandwiches, nothing of which was a custom order.
We watched as person after person was asked to confirm their order after they became more and more impatient. After about 15 minutes, it was finally our turn to be told our ticket had perhaps been overlooked. We gave them our copy of the receipt, and after another 5 minutes, we finally had our sandwiches. Or so we thought. We got out to the car, and my intuition just told me we should take a look at what we received. As usual, my instinct was correct; BOTH of our sandwiches were wrong.
We entered back into the building, awkwardly pushed through the other dozen or so people who were becoming increasingly frustrated at not having their food and made them aware of their error. FINALLY, about 30 minutes after we placed our order, we were on our way with two sandwiches and three donuts.
I hope this was an exceptional off day, and this isn't what customers experience from day-to-day.
As a final note, the food and donuts were delicious. I wish the experience that got us to this point was a little...
