The Silver Pig Bar & Oyster Room — Restaurant in Howell

Incredibly disappointed in our experience. 4 of us went out Saturday night for dinner and drinks to celebrate a birthday. Our reservation was for 6pm and we were seated promptly. Our drinks were great and the food was ok, however, it took over an hour for our cheese-free pizza to come out, so our dairy free friend was left waiting to eat. The manager did agree to comp that pizza after he saw our frustration with the slow service. What happened next is what will make me never return. At 815 the manager walked up to our table, as we were still drinking and about ready to order another round, and he told us he would comp the other pizza on our bill but that we had exceeded our 2 hour reservation limit and he would bring us our bill. We were not sitting idly, we were still eating and drinking and had been the entire time we were there, but we were asked to leave. He walked away, came back and set our bill down. I have never been asked to leave a restaurant because we were eating and drinking and taking up take space for too long, mind you, another 4 top table sat empty and dirty two down from us for at least 20 minutes. First time at the Silver Pig Bar & Oyster Room and I'll be back for sure. We've seen the billboards for this little joint a few times and decided to go yesterday.

This is a small little place so based on our experience, I would call ahead to reserve a table indoors unless you feel like sitting at one of the two tables outside the establishment of they are available.

The staff were super friendly and responsive. The food is A++ for sure but does get served kind of odd. Basically their meals are all about being shared so nothing comes out at the same time or in any specific order. While this is an interesting way of serving I am glad our waitress forewarned us about it.

We had the sausage and mushroom pizza, flaming cheese and the ultimate seafood tower. This was all done and served with care and attention to flavor and presentation. The shrimp on the ultimate seafood tower could have just been served plain with cocktail sauce though. It was served with a Cajun spice blend of sorts that got on everything and wasn't really fitting with the freshness of the rest of the tower.

Aside from the shrimp though, ai would highly recommend this place and will certainly be stopping back in myself. Well done on this place, the atmosphere, the food...

I regret not taking pics. The seafood tower didn't seem like much food when we ordered but coupled with 2 appetizers it was perfect for dinner for 2. The oysters were worth the drive. Personally I thought the shrimp ceviche could have used more citrus but in our house I am know for "It could use more lime." The chips feel fresh fried and are so thick and crispy... Do yourself a favor get the "Devils on horseback". Stuff dates. I have made stuffed dates multiple ways but this combo of bacon wrapped filled date with sauce...I could make a meal out of them. Cocktails were excellent. Our bartender personable and efficient. Our barback/busser made took such good care of us my partner thought she was our waitstaff. Service was outstanding. From our reservation call to the bar while waiting for table to table. Solid group effort to make sure our experience was enjoyable. DONT FORGET THE CARROT CAKE! Oh my. Better than homemade.
