Chocolate Boutique & Bakery — Restaurant in Howell

I've come here before and really liked their desserts so I thought I would order a cake. I asked the owner when she would be making it in case I had to change it or cancel my order and I was told that she wouldn't start till Wednesday. I called late Tuesday night and left a message and then called again on Wednesday and spoke to someone working there to confirm that they received the message and spoke to them about the $25 deposit I put down on the cake. I asked if it could be used to purchase other items there and was told that I could. I didn't ask for my money back. I just asked for a credit to purchase other items because I thought that the desserts she made were good. When I came in to use that deposit credit I was told that she was not going to give it to me and that that's the reason for a deposit. So just know you're basically stuck purchasing cake even if you let them know in advance there may be changes. If you want to just grab and go with something that's one thing but I definitely wouldn't put any orders in for cakes because I literally told her I might have to make changes and warned her before and I was told that I had time if I needed to make a change and then I was treated like I was being irrational to use the deposit for something else in her shop after being told it was ok and driving here to pick something else out. I would definitely think twice about making any orders because the service here is questionable at best. Also, her cake pricing is very high for what appears to be low quality cakes(based off the other pictures with reviews) It was a small 6 inch cake that she charges $50 for. I found another bakery with much better quality, prices and service. I wanted to add that I had been to this place before and gotten other items that I enjoyed so I did not look at the reviews before going back to order a cake but I wish I had. I also wish the owner would have honored the deposit and let me use it as a credit so I could continue to come back because I did really like this place at one point but sadly I will not be returning after...

Owners failing to wear a simple mask during a pandemic is enough to show they don't care about their customers health and wellbeing. Definitely has one question what other health standards they dont follow, especially when they are making the food. Tried to order $300+ gift boxes from them before the holidays to support local business. I got there 20min after their hours on the door said they are open, door was locked so saw the co owner mother insid so I knocked. She answered saying they were closed but what did I need, I said your hours say you're open which she replied no we were shopping. the co-owner mother wouldn't take my order but took my phone number and said they'd call next day. After 4 days they called back, obviously I went somewhere else, scratches sweet shop was awesome by the way! It's no wonder MStreet and Scratches Sweet Shop are busier than the Chocolate Boutique! Chocolate boutique looks nice inside and products seem decent; sad that poor business decisions, customer service/friendliness, and poor health standards result in people not being able to support this...

I go here all the time because I live in Howell. My favorite treats from there is the strawberry kiwi fruit Boba Tea ☕ or the milk chocolate truffles. Their so luscious and delicious. It's like a harder shell and when you bite into it it's like another layer of softer milk chocolate with fresh caramel in the middle. It's always fresh. Never sticky or icky like the store bought. Like the ones you can tell have been in a bag. The milk chocolate caramel are my weakness. They are so good. Their so underrated and I definitely suggest trying them. Another one of my favorite snacks is the vanilla or birthday cake cake pops. Better than Starbucks could ever. Ever since I found mold in my Starbucks cake pop I wanted to try something else and i tried the chocolate boutiques cake pops. Their so good. It seems like the vanilla ones or the good ones are always sold out. So I'm not the only one lol. Definitely suggest they make more of the vanilla or birthday cake because people buy it more than the chocolate ones. But that could just be me. But whatever. I love this place. It's like...
