Stopped by for a drink and appetizer with my wife last night.

We started with just a drink each. I got a Sam Adam’s and my wife ordered a frozen strawberry margarita. Her drink was $15, which felt a little pricey, but it was loaded with liquor, so the price was certainly justified.

Then we ordered our apps…this is where things went downhill. I ordered the crab cakes..$10 or $11 for two cakes. The outside was rock hard, and the inside was like mush. They didn’t taste horrible, but I didn’t enjoy them. My wife ordered the Crab Rangoons, which were, truthfully, horrendous. We both like crab rangoons, and thought some nice seafood play or even just a standard Rangoon would be nice—we couldn’t have been more wrong. The wonton wrapper was crispy, but extremely bitter and had a quite off putting taste. The filling was somewhere between the consistency and taste of cream of chicken and queso blanco. Neither of us could actually stomach more than a bite, and let our waiter take them when he stopped by again. I hate to be so critical, but these things were not good.

The shining star of the evening was the order of fried Oreos we got, which were really greatly done. No complaints there!

Our bill came to $59, which stung a little considering neither of us actually ate much of our apps.

I think this place is fine if you’re stopping by for a drink or dessert. If you’re planning to eat a meal, I’d be careful what you order. You certainly won’t catch me eating...

Their website states lobster rolls are half off on Monday-Thursday after 7pm. I ordered well past 8pm thinking I had gotten a fair deal on a lobster roll only to find out upon arrival the website is inaccurate and not updated so I had to pay full price. I wouldn't have minded paying full price as much if the lobster roll was actually decent, but it was lacking in a lot of areas. Also ordered the crab rangoons which seemed like they were bought from a supermarket and put into a deep fryer. I didn't taste or see any crab meat, only a thin and watery cheese filling. The last thing I ordered was the fried calamari. It was very underwhelming. They overcooked it and only gave me tiny little pieces. The only semi decent items were the french fries and the pickle... which I think says a lot about this restaurant. My suggestion would be to advertise accurate prices on your website and not to overcharge customers for poor quality food. It is sad to say but this is obviously just a tourist trap trying to gain money from people who are looking for a bite to eat after a beach day and not people that are actually passionate about serving good food. These 3 items cost me $71 dollars and the quality was disappointing. Customer service was just okay, nothing special. I couldn't even tell who worked there and who was just a customer, because they were all dressed...

Stopped in for some lunch and drinks after the beach and was shocked at how bad it was here. There were only a few customers when we showed up. Our waitress was bothered and inattentive the whole time, and was also not friendly throughout, on top of everything else we experienced here. I couldn't taste any alcohol in my $15 margarita, clam chowder was yellow/gold from being reheated too many times over who knows how many days (we told the waitress, and she offered another one...really? But eventually took it off the bill). Man, you're in New England, at least have your chowder in order! We paid up after no follow up from the waitress the whole time. We decided to have a few more drinks (bottled beer for sure), but couldn't find our waitress anywhere or the bartender for that matter. Everyone seemed to be in the back somewhere. I asked the hostess and she got our waitress, who took our drink order and never followed up for refills..we had to flag her down from her conversation with other staff. This was the absolute worst experience I've had in a long time. This place will be out of business soon as it's very poorly run. It looks like it's the Red Parrot...

UPDATE August 2025: My husband and I with friends went to the Tipsy Tuna for our annual visit. The menu changed some and the fried lobster roll is no longer on the menu. :-( What we had was still good but we were disappointed. Service was marginal. It was still a good time but we may need to venture out and visit some of the other restaurants in the area. My husband I hadn’t been to Nantasket Beach since we were kids. We ventured there a few weeks ago for the first time and, again a few days ago. Both times we went to the Tipsy Tuna for a lunch. Great food (!), great atmosphere, wonderful service (Thank you “Jimmy-again”). Loved the music and the vibe. The main chef came out to say hello both times - what a nice touch. Try the fried lobstah roll —— man, is it good! See you again soon!

Great location next to one of the better beaches around. We drove to Hull twice from Norwood. We ordered: Mussels- these were tied on the overdone side. But when you get it in, but it was OK. Fried pickles - can't go wrong with fried pickles, and these aren't too dilly Maine lobster roll (called with mayo)- not too shabby, good amount of lobster. Connecticut lobster roll (warm with butter)- I wish I had gotten this one, but my husband ordered this one. Much better than the Maine lobster roll. Fried Oreos - I mean, how can you go wrong? Kids, fish and chips- the fish was a huge portion. Very moist and flaky. Kids chicken strips - nothing to write home about. Piña colada - some of the better piña colada's I've ever had. Good flavor!
