If I had to describe my experience in one word, it would be "dissapointing." I ordered the "classic" burger. It didn't come with any sauce on so I requested their house sauce to be added. I was served a room temperature burger with no sauce and wet soggy vegetables. The server brought me the sauce on the side after the fact which led to my sandwich now having cold sauce as well. Seems like they cooked the burger and forgot to toast the bun and cut the veggies fresh. Pickles were too thick, lettuce was one piece of a rib of ice berg, and one single pathetic soggy tomato slice. Burger was cooked very well but every other component was lacking. I saw many reviews raving about the fries. They were fine, nothing special. The exciting part about them was that you got to choose your seasoning. With options like smokey taco, honey habanero, jalepeno popper, etc, I was excited. I ordered the smokey taco, and my friend ordered the honey habanero so that we could try both. We were served decent fries that had barely any seasoning on them. I find it hard to mess up french fries but the one surefire way to do it is to forget the salt. I am embarrased for the people who serve these bland potato slices. The other side I got was mac and cheese. It was slightly better than the bulk frozen Mac and cheese from the public school system. Not worth the $2 upcharge for either side. In the time it took me to write this review. About 10 minutes have passed and I still have not received my check or the beer I ordered with my food. I've lost hope on the beer sadly. I would not recommend eating here to someone who would want a good burger and fries for the $15 tab. You'd be better off at the McDonald's...
Read moreWe had spent the day at Holiday World and were looking for a local place to eat and not just typical fast food.
Stumbled across this establishment and thought we’d give it a try. Very interesting atmosphere. It’s split, restaurant on the bottom floor, axe throwing above.
We were promptly greeted by Jake with a friendly welcome. While he may have been the ugliest one in the establishment, his personality won us over. He joked with us back and forth about our group, it was a genuinely good time.
The best part of the experience was the food. As it’s becoming increasingly hard to find grilled chicken sandwiches, I ordered the classic chicken sandwich. It was flavorful and juicy. Bun to topping to chicken ratio was on point. Easily the best sandwich I’ve had in several years.
Others in my group, got nachos, wings, fries, sweet potato fries. All of which was better than the last. Both my sons really loved the Mac and cheese.
The atmosphere was great and no one seemed to mind that we had 6 kids in our group, one of whom was asleep the entire time. (See Holiday World above.)
If you have time and want something off the beaten path, I can’t recommend this place enough. The people, the atmosphere, service and especially the food are among the best we’ve experienced.
All in my group have decided this is going to be our go to place on our regular trips to Holiday World. Next time we plan on bringing...
Read moreStopped in for lunch while passing through town. We arrived at about 11:20 on a Friday before the lunch crowd hit. We were greeted and waited on quickly. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Ella, the young lady who served us was extremely polite and attentive. We order southwest chicken rolls for appetizer. Breaded tenderloin with fries and onion tangles and the funnel cake fries for dessert. Appetizer came out in about 5 minutes and tenderloin and sides very soon after. All was delicious and cooked to perfection. Crispy and hot. We had so much food, we had to stop and save room for the funnel cake fries. Those were also perfectly delicious. We had raspberry sauce and whipped cream with it. We will definitely stop here again when we are in...
