My husband’s friend and his son were visiting us so I asked him what they wanted for his first meal back in the States, he said, “Let’s go for Mexican food.” Now, Mexican cuisine isn’t exactly my specialty, and the restaurants I’ve saved are mostly bar-type places that don’t open until 5 p.m. We were in HB area so he checked on Yelp and chose Don Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we saw a sweet elderly lady chatting with customers. Before they left, one of them even blew her a kiss! 😘 The atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming. The restaurant’s dining area is split into three sections, each with a different decor style. We were seated in the section behind the bar. If you have kids, they’ll bring a sheet with a parrot for coloring and a pack of four crayons—but the coloring sheet is actually the kid’s menu (we only realized that after we finished our meal ). 🌮 For lunch, we ordered the following specials • #1 Super Deluxe Burrito • #2 Tacos De Carne Asada • #4 Marinated Chicken Tenders • A lemonade for kid The staff were all super friendly, checking in to make sure we enjoyed the food and asking if we needed anything else. The portions were massive! We couldn’t finish, so we ended up packing everything to go. And of course, I had to check out the restrooms! They were spotless, with an orchid placed on the sink and three paintings hanging outside. The overall decor was vibrant and distinctive. Mexican food may not be my favorite, but the overall dining experience was great! 📍 7148 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647

I always love Don Ramon's, but tonight they proved how sweet and wonderful of a staff they have. The people I was with can be very difficult – asked to changed seats twice while we waited an entire hour for another member of our party, and finally stayed past closing. Not once did any staff indicate there was any issue, but instead were all nice and accommodating. Thank you!! And if you're reading this, I'm very sorry for my companions. Anyway, the FOOD is so good that I came back tonight while on a very short visit from New Mexico. I love the bean dip, the salsa is good... but I am forever obsessed with the veggie quesadilla. So good!! And the margaritas are pretty good, too. If you're thinking of going here, please do... just be more polite of humans than the people I was with, please. No matter how polite a wait staff is, don't be difficult for them!

From the outside Don Ramon's looks very nice 👍 when we came inside we were greeted by Mrs G. A very friendly nice and lovely lady :-) we had to wait a bit for our table, but that was no big deal because we were right by the window. My wife had the three item lunch special, with chicken enchilada, chile relleno, and flauta. I had El Mac. I didn't ask why it was called that but overall I really enjoyed it, the chicken was shredded and juicy, mixed with cheese jalapenos and tomatos, both plates with rice and beans. The food is very, definitely worth the money. The only reason I'm not giving the full five stars is because my drink was not refilled and I only got 3 tortillas with my plate ( I'm a bit petty 😔). The overall we will be back for another date!

Terrible service. Terrible experience. Call ahead and reassured that they offered taco Tuesday specials. Took an Uber there, was seated in the restaurant dining area, then was told to move to the bar area for the taco Tuesday specials, which we waiting another 15-20 min for someone to even bring us a menu and ask for our order at the same time, then stated he would be back, was at the restaurant a total of 30 minutes and no one even took a drink order from us. Mind you, it was two people, not a large party and they were not at all busy! Needless to say, we left before the order was taken for even our drinks. Last time we venture out of Main Street for taco Tuesday... I will make sure to spread the word- don’t come here unless u want to wait almost 40 minutes for someone to bring you a menu and expect you to order immediately or else they won’t come back for the duration...

Food and atmosphere good, our 1st time coming in even though we have lived here most our life, yesterday 2/26/25 we walked in around 11:15 am, very few customers and sat at bar for lunch, busser was very friendly and immediately brought our chip/salsa and water, no bartender is sight, finally 15 minutes later she shows up, I ordered a well, silver (blanco) margarita on rocks, on the menu they’re blanco silver tequila margaritas are $13, when the bill arrived she charged me $15 for well cocktail, not a big deal but yes when I brought it to her attention politely she got combative? What? and argued the the question as to why? So very reluctantly adjusted the pricing and told me next time know the difference, I said, no there is no next time, we’re not coming back, thanks to her they lost potential loyal customers and I could clearly see that it upset...
