I once had a question about prerequisites for a class and the different divisions I asked kept sending me to other divisions until I was right back to where I started. I finally got help after an hour of running around. The school doesn't run smoothly. Another example: if you challenge a prerequisite course (this means you apply to waive a prerequisite for a higher class) in the summer, you get notified whether it's approved or not AFTER your class signup date comes. By that time, the class you're trying to take will be filled. That's another thing about this school, it's hard to pick up classes. It took me three semesters to finally be a full time student with classes I actually needed. I guess that's not entirely the school's fault considering budget cuts but it's still frustrating. There's also this cranky, bald old security man that almost ran me over once. The idiot was at a stop sign and I was walking on across at the opposite stop sign and although he stopped at the sign he accelerated knowing I was crossing. Came within a foot of running me over. He was going too fast for being in a parking lot too. So much for providing people with security.. I've had some good professors here but I recommend...
Read moreGave my last review of the Golden West college swap meet a year ago so this is a update. Still parking on Gothard st to get my walk. It takes me approximately 360 steps from my vehicle to get to the first booth, that's about a half mile. Have so much stuff I bought that I'm buying small things because I've run out of storage space. From January to Xmas I look for presents for my two sons. My favorite sellers are Jose for all kinds of unusual stuff like electronics and whatever. The guy who sells Home Depot returns, you have to look thru four or five tables of items. The produce guy, Darren the tool guy, Wilma the food lady and finally Jimmy the fishing tackle shop. Happy hunting, one man's junk is another...
Read moreGolden West College swap meet on the weekend is the best local swap meet! The fact that it's in Huntington Beach where it's always cooler is an added Plus to the shopping experience! I always try to be at the swap meet by 7 a. M. so that I can be out and on my way home before it gets too warm. The swap meet is the best place to buy plants! I can't say enough about the pricing that they have for plants! I have three different vendors that I buy from, and they are all very helpful and knowledgeable about the plant it's that they sell which I really appreciate. I have come across some very unusual flowers and Cactus as well as succulents at the Swap Meet! The produce their...
