John's Philly Grille never disappoints. The bread is ALWAYS fresh and soft with a slight crunch to the crust. The meat is tender and flavorful. My GF and I always get the #1 with just the meat and cheese. My recommendation is that you order ahead of time and give yourself plenty of time to pick up your food. Not that it takes them a long to prepare orders. No, the sandwiches are so fresh and hot that the rising steam from the sandwich resembles an impending volcano eruption. These sandwiches are extremely hot in temperature. We also get Philly Fries and onion rings. They're just as fresh and just as awesome as the sandwiches! Nice crispness and seasoning on the fries and the onion rings have the perfect amount of batter. I hate onion rings that are doughy like those you get from a fast food place. Although you come for the Philly Cheese Steak, I often find myself getting "The Godfather", a meatball and sausage sandwich. 1/2 is plenty, but I always seem to get the whole one (and usually eat it all! :-)).
The only thing about John's that disappointed me, was that they closed the location in Anaheim (which was just a few blocks from my house), so now I have to drive to HB to enjoy this East Coast Goodness, but I guess it makes it that much more special, and is an indication of how much I really...
