Buddy's Pizza — Restaurant in Huntington Woods

This location is within the Detroit Zoo.

We just wanted 5 slices but the price for 5 came close to a full-size (8 squares), so why not? We didn't get a receipt (physical or email) but the buzzy thing only. It did take a while, and with 6 kids, it seemed like forever. I did have to verify our order was processing.

This pizza was AMAZING. It was so hot out of the oven, I went through 2 plastic knives that WARPED from the heat. The tomato flavor was just pungent, just delicious The pepperoni was spicy for the older kids; the 2 year old gobbled it up. I've never had to twirl cheese until now, and it was extremely satisfying.

I honestly don't know what the fuss is about pizza. And Husband is New Jersey Italian, so that's blasphemy. But Buddy's Pizza at the Detroit Zoo pizza is a home run right here.

Tables might be sparse for big parties. Bathrooms are not in the building. Staff seemed a little vacant but pulled through for everything...

Waited forever for cold slices of pizza. My daughter ordered the brownie Sundae and it took almost an hour to get it. When I finally asked about it, the girl working the food pickup desk said she just had to go back and make it. When I asked her to go back and make it due to how long we had waited, she yelled at me and told me to stop rushing her. We were on a field trip. Due to the amount of time we were waiting on something she could have walked back and made, my daughter almost missed her bus back. The employee working also was deliberately ignoring those of us who had been waiting for a while instead of answering questions. I understand it was busy, but her attitude in a food service setting was completely unacceptable....

DO NOT ORDER PIZZA HERE! This has got to be one of the slowest pizza making places around. The cook looks like he’s moving at a snail’s pace. We ordered a pizza at 12:40 (restaurant had about 10 customers) and I went to check on the status of it at 1:05 and told it would be another 5-10 minutes. I asked if it takes 30 minutes to make a pizza and was told ‘no’. So I pointed out that if we ordered it at 12:40 and it is now 25 minutes past then, and you said it would be another 5-10 minutes, that exceeds 30 minutes. I would not recommend this location.
