My husband and I did a penguin mingle as our Christmas gift to each other this past December. It was very expensive compared to other zoos we looked into but well worth the price. It was just the two of us in the room with the zoo keepers, they only let people into the room that you bring in your group. None of the penguins are forced into the room, it's just an open door off their enclosure, so none of them seem stressed or like they don't want to be there. We got nearly an entire hour with the penguins and were allowed to sit on the floor with them and pet and feed them. The staff were very generous about letting us take pictures/use our go pro, and took some pictures of us too.
