So I ordered from Gs today, & they got my order wrong, but, this isn't a review to make a COMPLAINT, this is a review, to show APPRECIATION!!
I ordered 3 plates of meatloaf today, which all came with 3 sides. I also ordered an additional, 6 extra sides, & 3 red velvet cake slices.... My order came to $98, & that's including a $5 tip.
Mind you, I have 2 non verbal daughters, with autism... So Maurice was kind enough to bring my food out, so I could wait in the car with my daughters....
P.O.V, (I should have checked my order, before leaving)... Anyone who comes here during lunch, knows how busy they are....
Anyway, skip forward, I made it back home, & realized, that they accidentally put ham, instead of meatloaf in all 3 of my plates....
I didn't get upset, because I knew they were busy for one, & secondly, I knew they would fix it....
But, I wasn't prepared for what I was told, when I called....
Unlike MOST, BUSINESS OWNERS, that would tell you to come back....
Maurice apologized, then asked for my address, & he had delivered it to me, PERSONALLY, within 30 mins!!
One thing I can honestly say, is if they make a mistake, they are always more than happy to FIX IT! So to all of the negative comments, talking about your food was messed up, or didn't taste right, (CLOSED MOUTHS DON'T GET FED)...
Some of you, are so QUICK, to post a NEGATIVE REVIEW, BEFORE, giving them a CHANCE, to make it RIGHT!
If I could give them 10 stars I would!! & THIS IS WHY, they continue to KEEP, (MY BUSINESS), with them!!
They treat their regulars like FAMILY, & I would recommend anyone to go to G's, if you want, (REAL SOUL FOOD)...
Yes, be prepared for a BUSY ATMOSPHERE,
& That's how you KNOW, they will NOT, DISAPPOINT!👌
& IF they DO, REMEMBER, that we are ALL HUMAN, & we ALL, make MISTAKES, so give them a CHANCE, to...
Read moreSo. I first visited G's several years ago and had a less than stellar experience. It wasn't bad, but it was pretty forgettable and I had other meat and 3s that I preferred. But. The one exceptional thing we had was the pound cake. So when we were in the neighborhood today, I figured we ought to give it another go; the restaurant gets such excellent reviews we were sure we must have missed something.
I'm super pleased to announce that we did, in fact, miss something. Our lunch today was excellent!
My mom and I were waited on by a super friendly and fast lady. Everyone working there was obviously hustling in the super busy restaurant, but they were all super pleasant and stayed smiling the whole time.
I had the fried chicken breast and leg with macaroni and cheese, yams, and a roll. The sweet tea to drink was delightfully sweet and refreshing. The fried chicken was succulent, crispy, and cooked perfectly. The macaroni and cheese was a little on the soft side, but it was super creamy and cheesy. And the yams! So sweet, soft, and buttery. Even the roll was really good.
My mom got the special of the day. It was a TON of food for the price. Country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, cabbage, and macaroni and cheese. She remarked that the country fried steak was absolutely amazing; it tasted just as good as if it had been made at home (but no mess or cleanup!) The only thing we didn't love was the cabbage.
On the downside...we loved our food so much and chowed down so hard that we were too full to eat pound cake, which was the whole reason we came to begin with. Oh well. That just means we'll have to...
Read moreI've dined at G's Country Kitchen more times than I can count and for probably more than a decade now. During that time, G's has DEFINITELY been one of my FAVORITE places to dine out! And, for authentic "down home southern-style fare," I personally believe that it's ABSOLUTELY TOPS!
Now, although I have tried many (or most) dishes there and have really enjoyed pretty much all of them, I "ALMOST ALWAYS" choose to have a G's favorite:
● The FRIED PORK CHOP Plate. ☆☆☆
The pork chops are always cooked to perfection: golden-brown, crispy outside, tender inside, and well-seasoned!
As for the sides, I pretty much ALWAYS order the "Yams" as one of my vegetables. However, others of my personal favorite sides there include:
● their potato salad, mixed greens, corn, and hush puppies. I've recently tried the lemonade, which I like as well.
Furthermore, Maurice is really, REALLY great at his job and is truly in his element. He's always so friendly, courteous, and personable.
Moreover, he, Marquitta, and several of the other staff clearly take pains to remember many (or most) of their regular customers and call us by name!!! It really makes you feel appreciated for patronizing their establishment.
Kudos to Maurice, Marquitta, and the entire team at G's Country Kitchen in Huntsville, Alabama, for providing a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic southern "soul food" and a true culinary delight.
Awesome! BRAVO!
