This is one of my go-to places for lunch since it’s really close to my work. The food is amazing. And MOST of the time, the service is great. The owner/manager is very nice and the girl that’s usually at the counter is great. But not today. Today I placed an online order for pick up, and when I got it back to work, neither of the 2 sauces that I had paid for were included in my order. This is a minor inconvenience, but I had paid for them and tipped on them, and my meal was less enjoyable without them. So I called the restaurant hoping that they could just credit my account (I’m a rewards member) or put the cost of the sauces back on my debit card. Instead, I was met with attitude from whoever answered the phone. First she tried to argue with me that my sauces were “mixed in” the bowl I had bought. No they weren’t. The 2 extra sauces are different (teriyaki and maki sauce) and it would be obvious if they were in the bowl. Then, when I told her that the extra sauces are listed on my receipt and that they always come in a separate container, she said “Oops.” (And then she sort of giggled,) “Well did you want to come back and get them?” I said “No, I only get 30 minutes for lunch, and I already used 1/2 of it coming to get lunch and to get back here…” and before I could even ask if there was a way to credit the sauces, or maybe just make a note since I eat there about once a week on average, she said “I don’t know what you want me to do but I’m not going to redo the sale over 2 sauces”. So I informed her that I would just find somewhere else to get my lunch and she hung up. The food here is amazing, but I don’t think that I am willing to pay $18 plus tip if the great food comes with fast...
Read moreStill SMH on this experience, especially as a chef and former restaurant owner. Ordered the Bang Bang Bowl. Specifically said no Maki Sauce due to a food allergy. When food arrived, it was covered in that sauce. I respectfully told the employee who took my order that I couldn't eat the bowl because of this, that I had requested the sauce not be included, and sincerely apologized for it having to be remade. The employee looked at me angrily and said, "yeah and this is one of the hardest ones to remake". He walked off indignantly, and had the kitchen remake the bowl. When he came back up front, I again said I was sorry it had to be remade. No reply, just an angry scowl. I wasn't even expecting an apology for the order being incorrect, and at this point I was mad at myself for continuing to apologize. The bowl was remade and it was excellent. I have NEVER encountered someone in food service becoming furious for delivering an incorrect...
Read moreI went to Maki for a late lunch on 4/19/2024. I guess it was the manager that took my order. He had a bad attitude. He was so arrogant. When he brought my meal, he looked at me and he dropped my fork. He said he would get me another fork. With his bad attitude I don’t think he got me another fork, so I probably ate my meal with the fork he dropped on the floor. I was the only customer actually sitting at a table in the restaurant. He would constantly squeeze by my pub table and the pub table next to mine every time he needed to go to the kitchen to get something. He passed by my table 8 or 9 times. I could feel the breeze every time he passed by. He chose this path instead of using the much wider pathway. He needs to stay away from customers while they are eating, and adjust his arrogant attitude. I don’t see how they could hire someone like him. They could do...
