Belk — Local services in Huntsville

Belk's has always been one of my FAVORITE stores to shop for classy and well made plus size women's clothing, with an excellent selection of my favorite brands like Karen Kane, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein. I especially love that they've moved that department back where it belongs in my opinion, which is directly inside the entrance doors on the second floor @ Parkway Place Mall! So why only a 2 star rating, you ask?! My answer is simple! Two words, yet if the word "no" or "broken" is put in front of those two words, CHANGES EVERYTHING!! And not for the better! Have you been able to guess those two very important words yet?? AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!!!! Nobody can stand to, let alone would choose to, shop in any department store in the state of Alabama in the deep South at the end of June or beginning of July that didn't have a functioning air conditioner! Hard core sadists/masochists o or prison wardens would consider it TOO CRUEL to subject a human being to such a sweltering and downright dangerous environment!! Get the air conditioning fixed/repaired promptly or buy an entire new system, if necessary!!! Don't continue to open your doors for business UNTIL you've handled the situation, at whatever cost to Belk's @ "corporate or headquarters". Believe me, the final results will tally up to much less than what it's costing your company to daily open the doors to a floor of stale air that registers 85 degrees @ 9am, acting as if that's NORMAL and instructing their red faced, drenched with sweat, borderline heat stroke employees to inform and reassure their customers that the problem is temporary and being worked on or repaired as we speak... The REAL COST to Belk's is their once devoted customers that they're losing every day to other department stores that by all outward appearances, value their customer's comfort as more important than saving a few dollars!! And the ONLY thing that is going to be "temporary" at the end of the day is how long you'll be able to open your doors for business- PERIOD!! Buy a clue, for crying out loud 😭, no 😰😧😡 out loud and remember the oldest rule of business, that one unhappy or dissatisfied customer always tells at least 10 people and then those 10 people tell ten more each, and so on... It doesn't take but 1 dissatified customer to take a business under! Belk's has been synonymous with Southern style and class, but with the current lack of standards, it's losing...

There is so much to say here about Belk in Parkway Mall! I went to buy a purse online it said several were available at this store. So I travel from the other side of the county to make purchase. When I get to the handbag dept I stand waiting for help till I just go to the jewelry counter and ask for help the lady behind the counter points at a blonde-haired lady who saw me the entire time I was there looking for help and ignored me. By the time I turned around, another woman was waiting as well so I asked the blonde lady to assist me she was very rude and dry and then told me I would have to wait while she helped the lady who arrived after me first!!! Can’t make this up!!! So being polite I waited the lady was older we are not the same nationality so whatever I came to buy a bag. By the time she was done helping the older lady, I told her what I wanted she claimed to go to the back says they didn’t have the bag but offered me a dirty display bag. I told her no I didn’t want the dirty bag I wanted a certain color which was shown in stock there. So then she takes me over to the counter and says she can place an order at this point she is just bs’in me. Taking forever just to tell me she can’t order it. This is not the first time I have had this experience at this location plus soon as you walk into the store it has music that is very distasteful blasting like a club or you shopping at 5-7-9 or Charlotte Ruse. If it wasn’t for Bridgestreet I would cancel my belk card. The crazy part is the lady was so rude I vowed never to shop here again tired of racist bad customer service in Mediocre places! I waited a week and got the bag I wanted at Bridgestreet which was way more welcoming and not as loud… parkway belk I really hate this because this is the only inside mall this city has left but I will continue to shop at...

Bought. A Rolex watch and payef for it with a check. Called in advance to make sure they took a check because this is on another account I have. Checks are still Legal tender!!! they call my credit union credit union so the money was there all was good... Still said that they had to send it to corporate. Still do not have my watch. Now it's legal tender still in this country to write a check. If the check was no good they could have me arrested but all that's beside the point because they called my credit union and they said the money is there. The check is good. . They said we have to send it to corporate "overnight" and they will deposit it and you'll be able to pick up your watch. Okay 3 days later I still don't have my watch and this is not a cheap watch being a Rolex. The person who waited on me was super nice, not her fault. I cannot fault her for store policy. She went way and above. She made sure it was overnighted to corporate headquarters yet Belks is still falling on the job ... Let me say this, the store manager there, since they could talked with my credit union should have approved the check and that be the end of it. Poor management! In this day and time. Poor proceedings. This is a store. They should be able to take money for a product anyway that it's given, especially since it was approved. This store manager needs to be fired. Not capable of doing their job! If you are in business, you should be able to take whatever you charge for an item in any legal tender. Especially when they called in advance to make sure this would not be a problem. Very unsatisfied...
