During the COVID pandemic, Panera has modified its menu and its way of doing business. These actions may have saved the business. Some of the changes are still in place and likely to remain.
I never ordered online from Panera very much. No reason, just a habit. I now order online as much as actually going in and sitting down.
The website ordering program has changed over time. It has gotten easier. The first few times I used it, it was frustrating and I sometimes getting what I did not want as finding options was difficult. More recently, the process has gotten quicker and easier.
This time, the order was for bagels and an egg sandwich. I prefer a different bread than the standard. In the past, I gave up and just took what they gave me as finding bread options was not worth the effortāif it could even be done. This time, no problem.
The program asked about options I preferred. I selected whole wheat bread. It also asked my for preferred cheese. A small thing but a much appreciated option that was not this obvious the last time I ordered.
The bagels were easy to order. Again, options were more available. I ordered six bagels and they were sliced as requested. One consistent point with Panera, the bagels are always sliced unevenly. This makes it hard to finish cutting the bagels as they are often very thin at one end of the machine cut. Putting a very thin slice of bagel in a toaster leads to part (the thin part) being burned.
I got to Panera in a few minutes. The order was ready to pick up and sitting in the order bin. It was quick and convenient. Overall, a very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy father and I stopped in for lunch during Christmas time. Panera is very clean and we were pleasantly greeted by the cashier. My father has lived here 17 years and my son and I recently moved here. Fast, Fun, and Friendly are how I describe this location of Panera. Our food was made fast, the employees seemed like it was fun to work there, and very friendly employees. We dined in and watched a gentleman named Earl greet customers and stopped to chat with the patrons next to us. We overheard they were hiring and stopped Earl next to our table. He treated us as if we were his only customer and we let him know my son was looking for employment. He kindly offered him an interview and now my son is working at a great place and all the employees are well trained and taken care of. You can definitely see the pride Earl has in his job and he takes care of the employees as if they were family. Thank you Panera for the great food and coffee and the warm welcome to Huntsville Alabama from Earl. He is very kind and kindness matters. I would highly recommend this place to anyone so stop in and say hello and enjoy a bite...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy mom has been in crestwood hospital for several days so I have gone to Panera bread for breakfast due to it's proximity. The service there is not great. The lady at the counter seems to enjoy telling me they are out of what I order. The light roast coffee is so stout it takes half the cup of almond milk to turn it brown and two very large spoonsful of honey to combat the bitter burnt taste. There is no difference in the light and dark roast coffee. I've had 3 am highway truck stop coffee that was not as burnt and bitter. My last $3 cup wouldn't turn colors after 5 powder creamers were added. So in the trash it went. My neice was picking up the order for me. When she went together coffee they were out. So the lady made more. I had asked my niece to fill my 16oz cup halfway with almond milk and 2 tablespoons of honey. The lady filled the cup full. Panera bread charges too much money for a cup of coffee to taste like that. Change brands, change how you brew it. Do something different. This stiff isn't worth pouring...
