Bit of a mixed bag here.
I have had their petit fours before. Peggy Ann is known for them, and rightfully so. The ones I had were delicious, decorated beautifully, light and sweet and adorable to look at.
On the other hand, I recently had an eclair from there for my boyfriend's mom's birthday. I didn't like it at all; it had a faint, slightly lemony aftertaste, the chocolate icing was waxy, and there wasn't enough cream/custard filling for my preferences, making the item on the dry side. Additionally, the breading surrounding the cream filling had a consistency and tasted way more like yellow cake, rather than choux pastry. Very weird. My boyfriend didn't care for them either.
We also gave the birthday girl cream horns, which she liked. I didn't try those, so I can't speak to them, but at least they were well received.
If the petit fours are still anything like they were a couple years ago, it's definitely worth a visit to try them. They're nice for a special occasion. I'd opt out of the eclairs in the future, though. On the whole, Peggy Ann's is a Huntsville staple and it's worth it for you to form your own...
Read moreWe have used Peggy Ann's for YEARS but their service and quality has consistently gone down. Both of my daughter's graduation cakes were ruined and when we opened the box to serve guests the cake had completely moved apart and it was as if someone had hosed off the icing. They blamed it on a temp issue but then had nothing to say when we explained they had been in the fridge the whole time up until dinner. When we called they promised a discount on our next order but then when we tried to use the discount they said the had no record of it and our correspondence plus too much time had passed and the discount expired (?)... Anyway, designs never look as promised, always an unexpected upcharge, and overall just inconsistent communication from managers which in our opinion reflects into the quality of the product. We used Peggy Ann's for...
Read moreHonestly I don’t know why I’ve never left a review before. A boss once brought us Peggy Ann’s as a holiday treat, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. If I mention this place to people, they are usually already in love with it or haven’t heard of it and recommend it. It’s definitely one of the local gems of Huntsville and you can’t beat it. I usually come by and get one or two small things as a treat, and it’s so hard to not buy more. They have so many delicious options, and the price is pretty reasonable especially when you consider that this is a small business that works hard to put out fresh products. Every time I go in, the workers are always so pleasant and polite, and it’s just such a lovely atmosphere to be in. This place is an...
