Food was extremely delicious and plentiful. We were very impressed by the speed it was prepared and brought to us and the bountiful portions of it all. My family and I all enjoyed our meals, salads, soups and desserts we tasted and tried there. We plan to visit again to try some more of there unique options. Both my daughters got different meals that included fried fish fillets and they loved them and we were all amazed by how large the fillets were. My husband got the country burger with an over easy egg on it and really enjoyed it too, even though it was an ooie gooie delicious mess he said. Lol. One of our meals came with a slice of cheesecake and it was the real authentic thick creamy kind. The rest of us shared a piece of their carrot cake and by share I mean 3 of us barely put a dent in it and carried the rest of it and or other food home to eat and enjoy later. The only thing that knocked a star off this great experience for us was that when we first arrived and was seated in our area the waitress seemed more interested in checking on the other 2 tables of guests seated in same area as us then she was about bringing us our drinks and taking our orders. She took our drink order ( a chocolate shake and water for one of my daughters, a water for me, and a lemonade for my other daughter, my husband wanted to figure out if he wanted a breakfast meal or lunch meal before he placed his drink order) and went to go get them for us. On her way back to our table with the tray carrying the chocolate shake and 2 waters she stopped by one table, talked to them and then went back to do something for them, started towards us again with the tray but then checked on another table and went back to get them something to go with their meal then went back again behind area where I figured she realized she had forgotten the lemonade and was getting it but no came back around set something else on the other table and then finally came over with the tray. She gave me my water, the shake to one daughter and then realized she didn't have the lemonade and said she would go back for it but she could just have the water for now. I tried telling her that the other water went to my daughter who had the shake but she said that's fine she could just have it and set it in front of the other daughter anyway. I then moved it to where it belonged and watched the waitress repeat process again of stopping and tending to other tables needs on her way to get the lemonade and bring it back. We were very put off by this and felt like she valued the other people and tables more than us. Thankfully we waited it out and the other tables left our area and she then gave us her time and attention. But the food service, speed, and good flavors and portions is what earned all the stars from us.

The food at City Cafe is Delicious!. There is a national chain brand right next door ( rhymes with tracker carrols), but I have, at many times, seen more traffic at City Cafe. I had the Greek Omelete ( eggs, gyro meat, tzatziki sauce), and toast. SCRUMPTIOUS! The patty melt was ooey gooey delicious. I can also recommend the Western Omelete with Home Fries. ALL of the food tastes like it is cooked from scratch. For lunch, I ate the Gyro.... ( pronounced Yee-roh ) I felt like I was in Greece again eating local fare. Their menu offers breakfast all day, but the main menu doesn't come out until 10:30 am. I can recommend most all of the dishes. I have tried all but 3. The table service I received from Jacquelin was PHENOMENAL! She not only knows her stuff, but her demeanor and attitude are ALWAYS positive and friendly... even when she is very busy. I witnessed her have 4 tables in different sections, one of which was a large group, and she kept her cool and composure the entire time, not once seeming " In the weeds " nor neglect any of the tables. In my opinion, Jacquelin is one of the most competent and friendly servers I have encountered. The management and staff are always on point! Thomas helps make the place run smooth as silk. The hostesses are ALWAYS friendly. Also, if you're in the mood for some coffee and cake, City Cafe is the place!!! As you walk in, there are TWO GIANT coolers filled with a wide array of cakes... from Red Velvet to you name it! My favorite was the cheesecake!! This location has ample parking, is handicapped accessible, and has a kid-friendly menu option. Please give them a try. It is wonderful to see local businesses thrive, and supporting them helps the community. Highly recommended!!

Pretty impressed. We were seated immediately & the service was quick. We had our drinks before we were ready to order. They were out of one of the items we ordered and were quick to offer alternatives on the plate or bring us a menu to order differently if we wished and ended up making the original item they were out of fresh for us after they were also out of one of the meats on our second choice. The menu is extremely extensive, you cannot go wrong here, and the service is very friendly and accommodating. Not only do they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner options all day, they have a wide variety of food types as well. You can come here for anything... pancakes, Belgian waffles, Eggs Benedict, Breakfast plates or biscuits, classic American dinner fare, Italian & Greek dinner specialties like delicious creamy Alfredo, Lasagne, Gyro and Spanokopita to name a few, Burgers, Wraps, Sandwiches of all kinds from grilled cheese to French dip to Phillysteak to Pastrami, numerous salads of both green and meat (tuna/chicken) varieties. And, oh my God, the desserts! When you come in the front door and head towards the hostess seating podium, look right & you will see the cake case where they sell decadent cheesecakes, triple layer cakes & even apple pie, served by the slab. Huge slices that easily fill half a dinner size to-go box. I wish I had gotten pics of the meals before we ate them down (big servings), but you'll have to make do with just pics of the desserts we took home. Don't miss out on this place! A definite must visit for everyone. Pictured are the apple pie, red velvet cake, tiramisu cake & white chocolate raspberry cake.

City Cafe Diner is part of a small chain of family-owned restaurants, including the Marietta Diner, featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Very clean, attractive facility. They are famous for BIG cakes and other bakery good: pies, baklava, cookies and cheesecakes. Neat, friendly servers-everyone was observing the current requirements Menu: The menu offers fewer choices than I remember from previous visits; I suspect that is due to the current situation. I also remember (maybe incorrectly) that breakfast was served all day. That is no longer true. The Food. Coffee was hot and good; servers were always ready with a refill,. Big plus: coffee is included with the price of breakfast! The toast and grits were good (any bread other than toast incurs an extra charge). My Western Omelette left a little to be desired (thus the degradation of rating to 4 stars). It was a "3-egg omelette", but they must have been SMALL eggs.. The fillings (the normal Western Omelette ham, green peppers, onions) were good and tasty. The extra $1+ charge to include cheese was not expected. Also, unexpected: the omelette was quite overcooked. No "fluffy" omelette here. It was not bad enough to return to the kitchen, but it was not a great experience, with dry, almost rubbery eggs. Definitely was not up to par with other City Cafe experiences (at their various locations). One plus: they put only strawberry and grape jellies on the table-you don't have to dig through a dozed "mixed fruit" packets to find the lone strawberry jam! I still recommend City Cafe Diner but with some minor reservations at this time.

We love it here!! Diners are my favorite and City Cafe Diner does not disappoint! First, they have coke products...which is major points in my book. They have diet coke and coke zero! Now with the food, there are SOOO many options! Something that works for anyones craving. If you ever have those times where no one can agree on what type of food to eat, go to City Cafe Diner!! The portions are large and filling. You get bread, butter and this delicious garlic spread while you're waiting for your food. Sometimes they will also give you a little spinach pie, sounds gross and I didn't think I would like it, but I do!! My main go-to anywhere is a reuben (if it's on the menu) and that what I usually get here. I also like the country fried steak! The first time I had it, the mashed potatoes were the best I have ever tasted, but the second time they were wayyy over garlic salted. I am not knocking them points or stars though because that day was Valentines Day and they were ridiculously busy, so I just chalk it up to that. I will order it again still. Now, BEWARE when you first walk in they have a whole display of these ginormous gorgeous cakes :p I had the red velvet before and omg, yum. It was the best red velvet cake I have ever had. You get a HUGE piece, so you should probably share! I have also had the vanilla tres leches and I didn't like it, but I was also jus trying it because I was intrigued. Nothing wrong with the cake itself, just not the texture I want in a cake. Oh yeah and the service has always been amazing too!!

Extraordinary food and service. I worked for the Ritz Carlton Hotel company and have traveled and have very high expectations when it comes to good food and service. City Cafe met and exceeded all of my expectations!!!!! Starting with the hot amazing bread and Lemon Chicken Cream soup.....ohhhh my goodness. The hot bread and feta spread was delicious and the soup was heavenly. Then my dinner arrives and I enjoyed every bite of the flakey "melt in your mouth" Spanikopita, lemon potatoes and rice. Again the service was top notch (we never had to ask for anything as they anticipated our every need)🥰 I ate to my hearts delite and still had enough for another meal to take home. Now for the best part... when you come in the front door you will be amazed by the truly scrumptious cakes that are displayed behind glass. It is the hardest decision I have ever had to make as I normally do not order dessert. I was thinking about it the whole time I was enjoying the amazing dinner. My friend and I finally decided on the carrot cheesecake and OH MY what a grand finish to a truly amazing lunch!!! I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. I live 45 min away but look forward to returning again very soon!
