Rafael's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Huntsville

We ordered take out from here a couple of times. The first time we went here we enjoyed it. The second time wasn't as great. We ordered two sandwiches. On one of the sandwiches the chicken was not cooked properly and the bun was literally dripping wet with grease. Unsatisfied with this I called them to ask if I could return it and get another sandwich. The person on the phone was friendly and said sure. When I arrived to exchange for the other sandwich the friendly young man from the phone was not at the counter but instead the man who was in the kitchen the first time I went in was there at the counter. Immediately he was defensive, even his body language. He was disagreeing with me and asking what I wanted him to do with the sandwich I returned. I was confused by his questioning because the young man I spoke to on the phone said I could return it and get another sandwich. I told the man at the counter that I had already placed an order on the phone and that I would like to pick it up. I told him I guess the old sandwich could go in the trash. He began to tear the chicken apart saying "what's wrong with it" and "it's done." I expected them to stand behind their food without arguing with me. Instead this was the treatment I received in front of another customer. They did give me another sandwich at no charge and this is the only reason they did not get one star. However, the bread on the new sandwich was also soggy and dripping...

Stopped by today for lunch with my family. We were going to get the two pizzas and 10 wings for $30 special but when we went to order we were told wings would take 25 minutes to cook. Which is weird because usually they are fried and come out pretty quick. We ordered the two pizzas, breadsticks and Greek salad plus a turkey burger.

Restaurant is kind of cramped and a little on the warm side. Staff was very nice. There are a bunch of hand written signs all over the restaurant that are a little hard to read.

Pizza was OK. Definitely one of those pizza places that you want to eat it immediately and not let it sit. Breadsticks were OK (served with maranara sauce, not pizza sauce), Greek salad was average.

Wife never got her turkey burger. They came out after the rest of the food was delivered and told us they were out of turkey burgers and weren't informed earlier. Which happens, and is fine, but it makes this seem like a pizza place that has other stuff available but you probably shouldn't get it because it's not the main focus.

We ordered to dine in but everything came out like we were going to eat it to go - pizza was boxed, salad was boxed, etc. I think they could probably cut costs and save some table space if they brought the pizza out on the pans they probably cook them on like other places.

Average small town restaurant, I'd try them once if you haven't but probably won't be a regular...

This place is usually good, however tonight I had a pretty bad experience. Whoever answered the phone (teenager) Asked me to hold, I waited for five minutes. Nobody ever pick the phone up ..so I called back and got the lady that are usually see there who is very nice. When I got there the teenage girl checked me out and was rude yet again, never smiled once!! Very melancholy and blah in her voice...We all have bad days, but don’t bring it to work with you... very unprofessional. She’d take my card and slid the food towards me And asked if I like A receipt I replied no. As I was walking away she’s like oh can you sign this? Not one is cracking a smile, what’s the deal here? If someone’s having a bad day and being rude to you customers and they should probably just get home. I can’t imagine being that miserable and treating others in that way.Are usually never late batter views, and this one I reviewed it very lightly and could’ve gone a little more in depth... I just chose not to. The last time we ate here the food is extremely cold when I got home. After this experience I’m not quite sure if I’ll be returning to this place. I would love to support local places but at this point I’m not really sure about this place great I would really recommend it after those few bad ...
