I’ve been saying for a long time Huntsville needs a place like this. I go to a similar place (Play Wash Pint) a lot in Chattanooga that I love. Rocket City Dog Bar is definitely nice and my dogs enjoy it. Did have some comments/recommendations based on my experience.
Get some pump sprayers and fill with water (and maybe pet friendly cleaning solution) to spray on not so solid spots where dogs go to the bathroom. Even if you try to pick everything up, the artificial turf will leave some behind. I saw people using a water hose, but who wants to unravel a water hose and roll it back up every time? Just get a couple pump sprayers and spread them around.
small dog area was so pathetic it might as well have been nonexistent. There were some massive dogs there and they easily run over one of my small dogs. Can you make it larger to where at least three dogs can fit..?
The gate latches are too unreliable. Suggest coming up with a better solution to make sure dogs stay in the play area.
It gets kinda muddy in the mulch area. Hopefully they expand the turf to that area in the future.
Suggest adding running water fountains/splash zones. During the hotter days, the dogs will love to play in some water.
I didn’t see a place to wash my dogs. If this doesn’t exist here, I’d absolutely recommend throwing in some steel tubs and charging customers to wash their dogs.
Treats? I didn’t see any. Offer a selection of treats for purchase.

Read moreI read all of the rules online, registered my pup, uploaded his vaccines and drove an hour for him to play. Seeing as it was my first time there I walked in the main door. The place was empty besides a couple that walked in ahead of me and a very rude unkept girl behind the bar who quickly scolded me and told me I was supposed to use the dog entrance. Ok my bad I just followed the group in front of me. She acted very irritated as I apologized it was my first time. For a place that’s supposed to be dog friendly it certainly wasn’t. I proceeded outside where I was met by a more friendly gentlemen who informed me it was small dog time for another hour and that I could wait inside? Umm with that rude woman who just scolded me? Hard pass. I checked the website again which states the rules and hours of operation and the procedures. No where that I could see there were time restrictions. Please make this clear on your website or add a separate enclosure to separate the dogs. I drove an hour to...
Read moreWe have been coming here regularly for several weeks now and have nothing but love for this place! My dog Cotton struggles with anxiety, but coming here and getting to be around different dogs and people has really helped him.
I love getting to come here and grab a local beer on draft and let my dog sniff and play to his heart’s content. The staff is friendly and professional - we always feel so welcome when we come. I appreciate the training they have and that they keep an eye on the dogs while we’re there.
I have also really enjoyed going to the small dog meet ups on Sundays where Cotton can play with other dogs closer to his size.
If you haven’t yet, check...
