While there are a number of positive reviews for this location, we won't be adding to that number. After giving it a few days before the "grand opening," we decided to give them a try for lunch. There was a short wait, but nothing out of the ordinary. Our initial feeling was that this location wasn't all that different from other Chuy's locations in the Austin area. The decor is very similar and the staff was great. But the noise level was a problem. It was so loud that it was hard for us to talk or even hear the staff at times. Sadly, the main issue was the food. The chicken tortilla soup was almost inedible. Besides being far more watery than the same dish at other restaurants in the area, it was overpowered by cilantro and black pepper to the point where that was all you could taste. The same overpowering taste of cilantro affected the other dishes we ordered. Despite the staff being understanding and advising we could request "no cilantro" the next time we visited, that is concerning since we have never encountered this issue at any of their direct competition in the area or at other Chuy's locations we have patronized. Despite the positive experience with the staff, the negatives we encountered made it an overall unsatisfactory experience for us, and we won't patronize this location again.

We ordered online and chose to pick it up curbside. They gave us a time it'd be ready and we got there one minute prior. We waited 30 minutes over our given time! When they finally got our order out to us, the only drink we ordered was not with it. We also didn't get some sauce that was said to come with certain orders. The curbside person went back to get the sauces and the drink but when he came back we still didn't get the salt or olives that were supposed to come with it as claimed on the website. We were home within 10 minutes and one of the 4 orders were cold while the other three were just warm. The receipt showed it was ready by the given time with a "0.00" hold over time. This leads us to believe it was ready the minute we arrived but wasn't taken to us for 30 minutes and was just sitting somewhere. Also, the avocado was not very fresh and wasn't worth the upcharge for it. (Photo disclosed) We were excited to have a Chuy's so close to us and have been in the area for decades, using the one on IH35 in RR and even in Austin and this was the worst experience. We're never going here again.

Just opened a new location in Hutto. So, of course, it's going to be extremely busy for at least a month. We needed a table for 2 and had about a 20 mins wait. Parking is tough. Had to park 1 vehicle in front of the business next door. Very friendly waitress. It seemed like the hostesses were confused on tables when we walked in. There were at least 3 of them huddled together, talking and looking at the menus and the seating chart while people waited to get on the waiting list. But I can understand how that could happen with new people, probably still in training. The hostess who took our name down was very polite and friendly and had a smile on her face from the time we got there til I swear when we were leaving. 😊 I personally like that. Shows she likes her job in my option. The food was really good. Prices are a bit high, but that's how's it has been for the past 4 years. 😬 Def worth trying out. I would recommend!!

This is a new location that opened about 2 months ago and I've already been here 6 times. Let me tell you about the decline in service compared to the previous 5 visits. The level of service and the standard that was established on my first few visits seems to have vanished.

The previous visits the napkin was neatly placed on the table with the packaged fork sitting neatly on it. Today there was a wad of napkins laying off to the side and the fork on the opposite end. And every table was set like this not just mine.

The previous visits tables were work cleared very promptly by a competent staff of help. Today many sat uncleaned and some even had to be cleared by the servers.

My à la carte tacos which I've ordered before and had been served on a single plate were brought out on three separate plates. And the taco shells themselves were the weirdest shape taco shells I've ever seen, not sure I'd call them taco shells.

My queso order is usually brought out very promptly but today was completely forgotten.

As I'm writing this review before I am even finished with my meal, there are people waiting in the lobby to be seated while I can see 4 tables that need to be cleaned just in the immediate area around me..... There seems to be nowhere near the hustle that there was when I came on my previous visits.

Also, for being a new location I would have thought that the ownership and or management would be interested in reading reviews of their restaurant but yet there are no replies from the ownership or management to any of the low ratings reviews.

I took time to write this review while I was sitting at the table before I even left. While I didn't think that the service could get any worse, it certainly did. I am not exaggerating in the fact that I waited at least 15 to 20 minutes after all of my food was finished and most of my table cleared to ask me if I was ready for the check. I mean, I've been sitting there for nearly 20 minutes with literally almost nothing left in front of me, of course I'm ready for the check. This is when she developed serious attitude and laid my check down and I didn't want to wait another 15 minutes so I told her to wait and gave her my card. She snatched the card with an attitude and walked away and came back, possibly with someone else's card and had to go back and get mine. Then she laid down my credit card slip and didn't even give me a pen, so I had to wait for her to come back by and ask her for one which she tossed down on the table without even saying anything about not giving me a pen in the first place.

I certainly hope that this isn't the new standard. Maybe all the good help went to the other new restaurant in town that just...

Yesterday was our 2nd time at this location. Molly waited on us both times. She’s an excellent waitress! The first time everything was perfect. We were there at 5:00. Yesterday, we were there at 6:00 and she made 3 mistakes.

  1. She said the TABC does not allow one person to order 2 drinks at one time. Not correct - I looked it up.
  2. The flautas were ordered with the chipotle sauce. It didn’t show up that way, but was corrected.
  3. Two orders of Chicka Boom Boom were ordered. Only one showed up with everyone’s order. This was corrected, but took about 12 minutes for the order to arrive. One margarita was comped as an adjustment to the bill. She was very apologetic and continued to be an excellent waitress. I ordered the fajita plate for the first time. I usually order the smaller portion Mexi-Cobb salad. 😋 The fajita meat was overcooked and dry. The shredded cheese was next to the tacos, so it was melted into the tortilla. Messy. There was about a teaspoon of guacamole for the 2 tacos. Their green chili rice was flavorful, but very sticky. Their beans were spot on! Everyone (7 of us) enjoyed our meal despite these hiccups. The others ordered taco bowls and a chuychanga. 👌 I’m mainly mentioning these as constructive criticisms because I know we will be back in the future. The 3⭐️ atmosphere is due to it being Too noisy. Gotta add some kind of noise absorbing materials, please. For those reading this long review, the place was packed by 7:00 on a Thursday. Chuys is a great addition to Hutto along with our other favorite Mexican restaurants: Julio’s...
