Went for lunch. The Cancun lunch special was great! The enchiladas are wonderful. The rice and beans were good, but not outstanding. The steak was tasty. One of the best items is the green sauce with the chips. The heat profile is exactly where it needs to be to allow the flavors to flourish. The service was great the first day. Everything was so good, in fact, that we went for lunch the next day as well. I had the carnitas lunch special the second day. They were good, no question there, but truly, the enchiladas are where this place shines. The tortillas that came with the carnitas were decent, if somewhat small. I could have used a couple more. I didn't bother asking, as the service this time around was a serious let down from the day before. A couple of guys asked for lemons with water to drink. They finally got them about midway through the meal after asking a 3rd time. The drinks were all just set on the table for us to pass around ourselves, not a big deal, but just made me miss our server from day 1. Considering that all of the guys left at least $5 a piece for a tip ( and a couple left more ), we weren't a really demanding group for a quick $40 - lemons didn't seem like a big request. So overall, the food was good to great, but the service was hit or miss. The lunch prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity. The Cancun plate w fajita steak, enchilada, rice and beans was around $10 I think. We'll definitely be back, probably this week, as we'll be back down there for work again and the food demands my return. We'll give the service a 3rd try, and see if the overall experience goes up or down. I'll update and let you know. If you happen to find yourself in Hutto and in the mood for Mexican, you should definitely check...
Read moreEdit: bad experience with our Beef enchiladas? Either you can't read or it's of course a simple generic answer can't even give honest feedback definitely will never go back. Not, very, good. Coming in and seeing the menu I had high hopes but after a few minutes it quickly faded away. We placed our order and got our chips and salsa which were actually ok. We ordered beef enchiladas and what was supposed to be a "chimichanga", both smothered in salsa flavored canned liquids I believe. As soon as we started eating our "Beef" enchiladas were missing beef, the chimichanga was covered in some kind of sauce that was not very enjoyable. When we asked if we had ordered beef because we only received a tortilla with cheese the waitress said yes and we told her we only got cheese she showed us the screen and said "yes beef right there." And walked away. She did not approach our table anymore after this and made it very awkward and never attempted at finding a solution, we were expecting at the very least a beef enchilada or even a simple explanation. The waitress came back and gave us the bill and full charge for the non existent beef enchiladas was there. No need for a free meal or any monetary fix but just the fact that they did not care or even OFFERED a fix made this a not very enjoyable first and last visit. Food is not very good but I've ate at some bad places and still go back if the experience was at least enjoyable. Save your money try something else you'll just get cheap cheap sysco canned special here by...
Read moreDO NOT EVER GO HERE!!! We have been regulars at this establishment for a couple years now. It started out as a great family spot to visit. But lately the customer service has gone way down hill. After our last experience with severe delays, and forgetting food, we decided to give this place a break. We decided to try it again tonight. After this I urge anyone reading my opinion on the restaurant to go elsewhere. The bar staff are the worst ever. Jen literally argued with me after she made the drink wrong. The manager even offered to take it off our bill. We said that’s fine we will pay. No biggie. But the bartender Jen, and bar back kept arguing with us in front of our family. Even made faces, and gestures behind my back that my 9 year old saw, and asked why she did that. It all started by asking for a to go cup. Then instead of remaking the wrong drink it snowballed from there. Even the New manager didn’t do anything to diffuse the situation. Instead he gestured for us to leave after I asked for him because the bar back, and bartender were literally talking about our family, and got caught!! The manager even followed us out antagonizing the whole situation with my wife of all people. This was in front of our kids. Ridiculous!!! So we won’t be back, and definitely would turn people away from here. So sad when this….. WAS a great spot to go for a tasty bite. Julio you need to definitely do damage control and staff turnover for certain people. On the other hand our waitress...
