Used to come to this place frequently for breakfast. It is sort of a hidden gem unless you know it is there, but there is no real signage to say it is there and really blends in with the building. However, as another quarter begins and I stepped in yesterday for breakfast I found the restaurant to be empty and the security informed me that the restaurant isn’t open because they don’t sell breakfast anymore. This is unfortunate because south of the midway there are few options for food and the few options for students at the law school and Harris school are not adequate as they are understaffed and out of food. There is also a restaurant at the hotel next to BARDAVID but their food is too pricey for the quality and their breakfast options aren’t as good. I understand why BARDAVID stopped serving breakfast but I think advertising along the midway could be better some sort of signage. Now the only viable option in my opinion for students is the dining hall but for graduate students it is Logan Cafe as most graduate students don’t have a meal plan and we don’t typically eat at the dining halls.

Read moreThe food and setting are great. I know working at a restaurant is a lot of work, but the staff needs better training. Just the bare minimum of customer service would make a huge difference. I saw a diner faint on the way to the bathroom and the staff was totally unhelpful! They were just trying to push her out the door while she was coming back around— pushing for her to let them call an ambulance. An ambulance? It’s not a medical emergency, just give her a minute.
It looked like they waited a long time to even tell her friend back at table that something had happened. I had no idea what to do. Instead of helping, they were gossiping about how to get her out of there. Things happen in restaurants and the staff needs training. If someone starts choking will they shove them out into the street? As a customer, I would have liked to see some compassion and patience rather than trying to hurry someone out the door to keep up...
Read moreThis was my 1st time here. Atmosphere was great! Temperature in the room was just right; not too hot nor too cold. Service was great. I really observed great teamwork. The music was very versatile. The Burger as great; needed a bit more seasoning. It was cooked at the desired temperature that I asked. But, salt and pepper is more my speed. I love that the server asked me did I have any allergies? Very cleaned, relaxed and smooth. Yes, I’m a Chef and business owner so, I pay an attention to all details and services. Lastly, everything came out quickly. My server was Victoria and I loved her. She was very bubbly with a nice smile. Also, she was funny and friendly. But, what I like the most she knew the menu.
