Doc Films is a great film resource on the South Side. Affiliated with University of Chicago, their programming is student-run and coincides with the academic calendar. They have movies every night during the school year and four nights a week during the summer, but be sure to check their calendar for special events. Read moreI can't complain too much because I was at Doc Films at a free movie. The building had a very nice charm, lots of polished hardwood. A lot is stairs too. I saw a 3-hr movie and the chairs about halfway through, my tailbone hurt. The screen was large and from where I sat (very close to the door), I had an unobstructed view. While there seats were older, they still had a roomy feel to them. The bathrooms were on the lower level and we're modernized with self-flushing tickets and hands-free faucets. They were nice...
